Jay was by a wooden table and he was checking and loading the gun.
While Kira and Ace were with the furry Terminator as they were working the truck.
And they were talking about all the guys that their dad was with and what they learned from each of them.
"I wish we could've met our real papa," Ace says.
"You will," he says.
"Yeah, I guess," Ace says.
"We'll be like 45 years old, I think," Kira says "we sent him back through time to 1984"
"Man. He hasn't even been born yet" Ace says "it messes with your head," Ace says as he hands him another bolt.
Kira then looks at her dad.
"Dad and papa were only together for one night. He still loves him, I guess" Kira says "I've seen him cry sometimes. He denies it, of course" she chuckles "like he got something stuck in his eye"
The furry then looks at them "why do you cry?"
"You mean people and furries?" Ace asks.
"Yeah," he says.
"I don't know," Kira says.
"We just cry...you know, when it hurts," Ace says.
They then out from under the truck.
"Pain causes it?" he asks.
"No, it's different," Ace says.
"It's when there's nothing wrong with you, but you hurt anyway," Kira says "do you get it?"
"No," he says and the truck starts.
"All right, my man!" Ace says excitedly "you got it working"
They then started teaching him the high five and they were laughing.
Watching Ace and Kira with the machine, it was suddenly so clear. The furry Terminator would never stop. It would never leave them, never hurt them...never shout at them or get drunk and hit them...or say it's to busy to spend time with them. It would always be there...and it would die to protect them. Of all the would-be fathers who came and went over the years...this thing, this machine...was the only one who measured up. In an insane world...it was the sanest choice.
After a while, I took out my knife and carved something on the wooden table as I watched the kids play with their dog.
I then put my head down and close my eyes.

I was walking on the grass when I came to the same park from the last time I was here.
I see children playing and laughing and their parents watching them.
I then put my hands on the fence and try to tell them to leave and run, but my voice wasn't coming out.
Just then I saw myself at this park and he was playing with Ace and Kira when they were 5 years old.
I try yelling to get their attention but they couldn't hear me and then I saw myself look right at me and then back at the kids and he laughs and plays with them.
I keep trying to get their attention, but just then the bright light showed up and I covered my eyes. As I heard screaming.
I then saw the blast coming this way as I see everybody burning and me and I hold the fence as I scream and then I saw the blast destroy everything and when it hits all those bodies they turned to ash and then it hurt me as I screamed and then I was nothing but bones.
**end dream**
I gasp as I wake up and breath heavy as I look around and wipe off the sweat off my face and then looked at what I carved and then I stabbed the knife into the table and gathered my stuff and went to the car that we arrive in.
I then get in and start the car.

NO ONE'S POV
The kids then saw their dad start the car and their friend walk to them.
"He said go South with him as you planned," Enrique says "he'll meet you tomorrow"
"Dad," they both said as they ran to the car as he drove away "dad wait"
After that, he was gone and they walked around until they came to the table and their dad's knife and they saw that he carved 'NO FATE'
"No fate," Kira says.
"No fate but what we make," Ace says as they furry looks at them.
"Our papa told him this" Kira says "I mean, we made him memorize it in the future as a message to him"
"Never mind," Ace says "the whole thing goes--the future is not set"
"There's no fate but what we make for ourselves," Kira says.
"He intends to change the future," he says.
"Yeah, I guess," Ace says and then it hit him "oh, shit!"
"Dyson," he says.
"Yeah," Ace says.
"It's gotta be, Miles Dyson," Kira says.
"Dad's gonna blow him away," they both said and then ran to the truck "come on! Let's go! Let's go! Come on!" they said as they got into the truck.
They then drove to catch up with their dad.
