(I am working on a list of cats)   Written by Nightfall_LeCluffle

A ginger tabby tom set with stars settled down beside a similarly starry vole. Reaching his neck to eat it, a dark cat came over.

"Hey, Alderpelt." the tom murmured. "It's been too quiet here."

Alderpelt shook his head. "It's always quiet. With the Clans divided again we can't really do anything, Lostfur."

As the air grew silent, Lostfur shuffled his paws. "They're not starting another Great War, are they?" he shuddered the thought of the terrible war that had killed so many cats, including him.

The dark ginger tabby tom's tail twitched. "I hope not. Looking at that again would make me feel like I ate crow-food."  he stood up. "We're good anyway. We don't need anything now-"

His meow was interrupted by a louder yowl from across the forest. "Lostfur!" a black-and-white tom yowled. "We need to see you!" the cat's ears twitched excitedly.

Lostfur stood up and padded over. "Coming, Splotchedstar." he picked his way through the forest, barely keeping up with the leader.

As they burst through the bushes, he saw a group of cats gathered on a rock. One, a dark-furred she-cat, stepped down. "I have heard that you want to be a new cat, have a new life?"

Lostfur nodded. "I would. A time without war and scars." he stepped forward, his eyes glittering "A new life."

The cat nodded. "Very well." she narrowed her eyes. "We know that a litter of kits will be born soon. Each will be special. You will either be the cat or a... part. A follower."

Lostfur's ears perked. "Sure! Any new life would suit me."

The she-cat nodded. "Alright, you will be sent when the kits are born." she meowed "But not as one... " she mumbled.

Alderpelt bounded up to Lostfur. "Lucky! I would give anything to have a new life!"

The blue-gray tom flicked his ears, "In a time without war, anything would be great." he stopped suddenly. "Race you to the river!" Lostfur yowled, bounding forward.

"Hey! Come back here, fur-brain!" Alderpelt called racing to follow him.

Lostfur laughed. "Catch me first!" he sped up, sending stars behind him. The two toms raced through the forest, their tails trailing behind them. Skidding to a halt, Lostfur sat down, panting. "It sure is getting to be different."

Alderpelt tumbled into him. "It sure is." he clambered off and stood up. "You'll visit, won't you? You"ll dream."

Lostfur shook his pelt. "Let's not get too sad. I won't be long." he nudged Alderplet. "Let's have as much fun as we can while I'm here."
