Chapter 10

Tommy seemed shocked to see us together after the show.  I did my best not to smugly smile at him but I failed miserably.  Chroi admonished me with a shake of her head and an eye roll.

What?

The guy rubbed every encounter with her in my face for a month, I was at least allowed a smug smile in his direction.

When we got back to the hotel, she came with me to my room.  I tried not to let on how ecstatic it made me but apparently I failed at that too.

"You can wipe the smug smile off your face, he's not around."  She said with another eye roll as she passed me to walk into the room.

I quickly fixed my face as I closed the door,

"I wasn't...smiling." 

She reached up to pull the zipper of her jacket down,

"Oh...you were."

I shrugged,

"I was thinking about a joke someone told me earlier."  I lied.

She nodded while she pulled her arms out of her jacket,

"Uh huh."

I frowned as I set down the card key and peeled myself out of my own jacket,

"He deserves it."

She sighed,

"Do you want food?  Room service is only open for another hour.  I need to get my pajamas."

I bit my lip,

"Why don't you just bring your things over here?"

She raised her eyebrows,

"Y-you want us to room together?"

"I mean...why not?  You're here all the time anyway."

She frowned and gave me another roll of her eyes,

"Wow, what an amazingly lukewarm sentiment."

I stopped what I was doing.  Clearly I'd bugged her.  I walked over to her, placed my hands on her hips and dotted a soft kiss to the tip of her nose,

"I would like it if you were here with me all the time."  I said when my eyes met hers.

She smiled,

"Yeah?"

I nodded,

"Yeah.  Go get your stuff, I'll call the front desk to tell them your room is free and call room service for some food.  Should be here by the time ya get back."

She kissed me softly and left.

I made the call down to the front desk and then to room service.  I realized once I hung up that we were in New York.  Home.  And we had the next two days off before the tour resumed again.  The city was blanketed in a thin layer of snow and with Christmas decorations up, I could definitely think up some romantic things for us to do while we were here.  I was also sure she'd want to meet up with her parents.

By the time I'd gotten out of my performance clothes and into my pajamas, Chroi was sitting on the bed having changed into her own pajamas.  She quickly clicked her phone off once I entered the room.  She hopped up onto her feet,

"Hey...had an idea for our day off tomorrow."

I raised my eyebrows.  Well, there goes my idea,

"Yeah?  What would you like to do?"

"We're in New York.  Christmas is two weeks away.  It's snowing..."
