I couldn't remember falling asleep which is always a great thing to realize when you wake up in the morning.  I was sweating, mostly because Chroi was laid out on top of me.  I wasn't about to move.  Our hands were joined, my fingertips lightly rested against her wrist.  I could feel her faint pulse.  It may sound odd but it made me feel even more connected to her.

She stirred slightly and then her breathing evened out again.

Seeing as I was going to be there for awhile, I buried my nose into her hair and settled in.

Two hours later, she finally woke up. The weather outside had gotten a lot worse.  I wondered if there would even be a show the next day.  Chroi seemed unbothered.  As a native New Yorker I figured she was probably used to this.  As such, she was insistent on making me breakfast.  We finally settled on bacon, eggs, hashbrowns and toast.  Easy, she said, but she seemed excited to make it anyway.

I was just finishing up brushing my teeth.  A quick glance in the mirror told me that the bags under my eyes were gone and my complexion didn't look like stone anymore.  The color had returned to my cheeks.  No mystery why that was.

I was actually proud of myself.  Considering the amount of time I spent fantasizing about Chroi naked underneath me, I had done a good job of keeping my hands to myself and not rushing her.  Lord knew I wanted her like nothing I'd ever wanted in my life.  But I wanted it to be special.

Trust me.  No one was more shocked by that then I was.

Chroi was my love and I had spent a lot of time trying to get her to forgive me.  I wasn't about to mess up again because I couldn't practice some self control.

Although this morning she was making it exceedingly hard with the smallest part of her skin showing just above the waistline of her sweats while she cooked.  I was hungry, yes, but not for food.  I scooted up behind her, my hands greedily pulling her into my body.  She smiled, I could tell even if her back was to me,

"You said you were hungry."

I brought my mouth to her ear,

"Got more on me mind than food."  I said, my voice low.

I knew we needed to slow down.  We had only been back together for a few days and there were problems we definitely needed to work out.  I would have been able to keep my mind on that fact if I didn't want this girl more than I wanted air.

She turned around, allowing me to steal quick kiss before she pulled away,

"Get some plates and silverware out?"

I frowned, not exactly what I was hoping for but I promised myself I wouldn't push her so I did what I was asked.

Minutes later we were eating breakfast.  I was still nagged by the stage fright thing but we'd had such a great 24 hours that I wasn't about to get into any arguments now.  Besides it seemed out of place to argue while it was so peaceful outside.

"What are your plans for Christmas?"  She asked.

I sighed.  I knew Maura wanted me home.  She'd been dropping hints for months.  Hints that I either ignored or dodged completely.  I knew she was curious about Chroi and wanted to grill me.

"Nothin'."  I answered.

She raised her eyebrows,

"Nothin'?  Really?"

I nodded,

"Wasn't sure what your plans were so I didn't want to commit myself t'anythin'."

She rolled her eyes,
