Picture is perfect! Just wish it was Logan instead of Virgil here
"Hey, I asked if you were ok, kid?" Patton stared down at the startled, but contained, borrower. He looked down at the form in his hands, but as a response, he only got a cautious stare back. This was not what he expected.
Just like the human in front of him, Logan was looking at the human holding his form. He honestly could not a get a read of the situation either. All he could do was look up at the figure and feel troubled. What he could figure out, was that this was the most awkward situation for both of them. Logan did, though, tilt his head to the side while he was inspecting the creature in front of him.
In Patton's point of view, the tiny human latterly tilting it's head to the side reminded him of a puppy. Because of that, all he could do was look at the human and see a tiny puppy in his hands. This only resulted in one thing, his eyes going wide with astonishment, and his mouth fell open from cuteness. He thought his heart would stop from all the overwhelming feelings happening at once. To the little creature in his hands, he probably looked like a droopy idiot with his mouth open.
The fact was...this was true. Logan couldn't take his eyes off the human. This was just amazing to him in all honesty. He couldn't read or anticipate his actions like a mouse or insect he would come across. He was told in lore, like a hundred times, that when a human came across a borrower, you would immediately be put to death because humans hated anything small and moving. I mean, look at the interactions between humans and insects. According to Logan's observations, ten times out of ten, the human would not think twice about a spider or beetle in their home. The human would see the "creepy crawly" and not even think twice of ending its life with the bottom half of a shoe. So why was he still alive?
While Logan was inside his own head, all Patton could do was move his hand around in astonishment. It wasn't bad enough to knock Logan off his balance, but enough for Patton to inspect the small form and notice all the human features. So, it was human!
Logan couldn't help but reach below him to grab his notes that he always keep with him. He had to get this down to show Virgil. Wait...Virgil. Where was Virgil? He continued to feel around, noticing in his panic that he couldn't find his notes. He looked all around him, feeling the ground as if the papers would just magically show up on the human's hand like they just turned invisible. That's when he noticed his bag was not present either. The borrower felt around his shoulder then got up to see if he was sitting on it. He couldn't decipher where it could have went. Logan then turned around were he was sitting, almost loosing his balance. All these thoughts were swarming in his mind. Where was Virgil? Where was his bag? Were his notes in his bag? Or were they dropped, just like all his materials. He stumbled to the side of the hand holding him, getting immediately dizzy.
" Darn my sight. Not again." He had to sit down to collect himself.
Patton noticed how the little guy was freaking out all of a sudden, then crawled back onto his hand. The little human was clutching it's head, before falling back onto his backside, probably to make the room stop spinning.
It looked liked he was trying to look for something.
Patton took his eyes off of the tiny and looked all around. He had to be looking for something.
" Oh! Are you looking for this?" Patton started to bend down to pick up the object lying on the ground, when he noticed his hand was tilting as he bent over. Instinct? He didn't know, so he keep his hand as flat as he could and bent his knees, trying to lower his body down to the ground without looking down very much. In his mind, if he didn't look down, he wouldn't have the instinct to tilt his body over the little guy, or tilt his hand. He felt around on the ground, trying to find the brown object that was in his sight from earlier. His hand brushed against it and he about jumped from excitant for reaching his goal. Patton stood back up gently with the borrower now staring at him like he was crazy.
" Is this what you were looking for?" He lowered the brown object onto his palm. As it laid there, he could just make out it was a bag, stuffed with objects. He couldn't really tell what it was yet, and he didn't want to just go through his bag.
" Well, affirmative human. I was searching for the bag, but how did you perceive that so rapidly?"
Patton smiled a bit at the language the little was using towards him. It was like the tiny human looked up language they used and was quoting it. In reality, that's exactly what he was doing. Logan noticed over the years, most humans used words he never even used or heard of, so he was trying to get past the language barrier by using words he came across in his reading to talk to Patton. Unknown to him, he really didn't have to.
" If you're asking how I knew you were looking for something, then that was simple. You looked the exact same way I do when I loose something and I don't have my glasses." Patton pointed to the black bulky object on his face around his eyes.
" I have heard of these glasses, but never considered I may need some." He meant to say this to himself, but talked out loud.
Patton smiled one more time, just now noticing how the little guy in his hand had clothes just like they would wear, down to the cute little tie around his neck. " Well, my name's Patton." he said excitedly. He then stared at the tiny to get a response on his name. When they went back to staring at each other for a time once more, he gestured towards the being.
Logan looked at him confused, but recognized the hand gesture. " Oh, my name? I do not know why you would need my name, since my intention is to not adhere here, but it's Logan. I will inform you of my title since that is the common practice for when you are meeting someone new."
" Logan. That's cute...Oh I have to show you to Roman!"
Logan immediately recognized the other human's name, since it is repeated a lot, and tried to object. He knew of this Roman, and he knew he would not be as " friendly?" as Patton. " Umm, that is not necessary." He tried to get out before Patton ran towards a door, bring poor, defenseless Logan with him.
Poor Logan. He overthinks things too much. Just like I did for this chapter. I have been working on this chapter for a long time. Had horrible writer's block. Hope it was worth it. So Logan and Patton meet and already...interesting. Well, next chapter all four. Same room. Oh no. So who's your favorite pairing so far? Patton and Logan or Virgil and Roman? Vote and follow if want more!
