Two years later~
Alfred hummed, running his hand over bump on his belly. He was guessing twins again, with how much he felt kicks. And boy did they kick. Kicking him in the lungs especially, leaving him so casually short of breath that it was getting more normal for him to just have random coughing attacks.
Eight, almost nine, months along.
"Mama!" Alabama exclaimed, running up to him and wrapping her arms around him, burying her face in his side, before she let out a muffled, "Mississippi won't stop chasing me."
Looking up from where she was nestled, he saw Missie standing in the doorway, shaking his head when she stuck out her tongue at her sister.
"What's happened?"
"She was making me mad!"
"Then walk away," Alfred scolded, patting Alabama on the back as she glared at her sister, the two walking off.
Alfred sighed, shaking his head before following behind the two kids.
It was chaotic outside, kids running around. Some were being good and doing their chores, while others were just being chaotic. Most didn't care anymore, just letting them mess around. Not to mention the baby dragons flying through the house, Nesrin occasionally letting out whistles to summon them back.
Massachusetts and Maine were wrestling with Delaware... reffing, and Pennsylvania and Virginia watching, both occasionally letting out yelps and whistles.
"Mooooom," West whined, running over and pulling on his shirt from behind, "I'm hungry..."
"There's acorn bread in the pantry."
"Virginia ate it allllll,"
"There's pirozhki in the pantry."
"No there isn't."
"There's hard boiled eggs in the ice box," Alfred sighed as West shot up, running off. Virginia walked by him, chewing on a slice of acorn bread as Alfred sighed again, walking out of the house to go to the kitchen. It was warm when he walked in, and he could smell bread baking.
"You shouldn't be out of the house," Autumn stated, "you're a little big around the middle for that."
"I have time," Alfred chuckled, "it will be a while before they decide to join us."
"They? Oh no," Samuel replied, "two babies again? What if you-"
"Sam, you're doing that thing again," Alfred cut him off, "I'd rather not think about that-"
He fell into a coughing fit as one of the babies kicked him the lungs. Autumn ran over, patting him on the back.
"I'm fine... I'm fine..."
"No, you're pregnant," Autumn sighed, "that's not fine. Where even is Ivan?"
"Hunting, with a few of the others," Samuel replied, his head turning to the window, "they won't be back for a while."
"It won't be too long, not when he has a baby on the way," Autumn stated, patting him on the back as he stood from where he was crouching.
"Most of the time when we say hunt we mean for a few weeks," Alfred coughed again.
"Alfred, are you sure you're okay? Nobody has ever been out for that long," Samuel said, giving him a concerned mother look.
"Yes they have, they do it all the time," he replied, "some follow the groups though, I suppose."
"Oh," Autumn mouthed, "he isn't talking about them he's talking about the Ind- Native Americans."
Samuel nodded, "Maybe you should sit down, I think you're disoriented."
