After another two hours of pampering – Jungkook was not aware his nail beds were what one might call 'atrocious' – Jungkook returns to his room. The booze cruise is this evening, although based on what Namjoon said in the steam room, this may be a misnomer. All members of the wedding party will be there, along with immediate family.
Hopping in the shower to rinse off, Jungkook realizes he feels good. Both from the spa treatments and the talk he had with the guys. Just speaking his worries out loud made them somehow less so. As though, now that they have a name, none of his obstacles are insurmountable.
Yoongi was right when he said a girlfriend would not solve Jungkook's problems. Not that he thought it would, but at least Jungkook is now in a place to consider the option. That in itself is encouraging. He even finds himself looking forward to tomorrow's date. Jungkook trusts Jimin's judgement – and thankfully, this is someone Jimin knows. Likely, they will not be crazy.
Jungkook only managed to extricate himself from the spa with a promise to keep the group updated tomorrow. Apparently, they were so hard-up for news today, Seokjin and Hoseok considered sneaking down to the restaurant to spy on him.
Namjoon managed to talk them out of it, but you never know – he might be busy tomorrow.
As he enters the lobby, Jungkook adjusts his collar. It seems he is the first one to arrive, which is odd. Usually, the guys make fun of him for his ridiculously long showers. Pulling out his phone, Jungkook checks the group chat and sees six identical texts from the guys running late. He should have checked before leaving his room.
Defeated, Jungkook slips his phone into his pocket. There are also several unopened texts from his boss, which he pointedly ignores. It seems his assumption John would find another analyst was a naïve one. Glancing around the lobby, Jungkook concentrates on the décor. It truly is beautiful, with late 1920's architecture and modern trappings.
Wandering towards the front, Jungkook is pulled from his thoughts by the sound of a yelp.
"What?" A voice gasps. "No! She's not supposed to get in until tomorrow. Oh, fuck. She's there now?"
The voice sounds familiar and Jungkook frowns, attempting to place its source. Turning around, he squints down the hall in time to see ______ come flying around the corner.
She looks beside herself, eyes wide and frantic as she darts towards the lobby. ______ is not alone, though – you stride beside her, holding tight to your phone and talking a mile a minute.
Jungkook's eyes widen when he realizes two separate facts. One; the voice was ______, Namjoon's fiancée. Second; you are their wedding planner. Of fucking course.
You do not seem to notice Jungkook, too engrossed in your conversation and as you rush closer, Jungkook overhears.
"It will be fine," you are reassuring ______. "We'll figure this out."
"But how?" _______ wails, shaking her head. "Nana Mason lands at the airport in an hour. The email I have says she won't land until tomorrow! She's never been here before and I was supposed to pick her up – but the booze cruise! I can't leave."
When you bit down on your lip, Jungkook cannot stay silent any longer.
"I can do it," he announces, stepping forward.
Both pairs of eyes are drawn in his direction – yours narrow.
When she spots him, ______ blinks. "Jungkook?"
Surprise flickers over your features, realizing the bride knows his name. "You know him?" you ask, glancing aside.
Happily, ______ nods. "He's one of Joon's groomsmen! Jungkook do you really mean it?" she asks, sounding earnest. "I would be so incredibly grateful."
