The Lord smiled on his faithful as they prepared to step forward into the unknown based on faith alone.
"They have remembered, all six of their previous lives," the Lord told Satan confidently as he watched his chosen pair.
"They do remember their lives but not their errors," Satan argued. "Every time, they react consistently according to their natures. Their actions are predictable because they do not learn from what they remember, nor do they rely on faith to show them what to do. Whispers in their ears go far to mislead them, as they have before."
"Except that in this life, that has not been true. The errors of flesh temptations you have placed before them, they have admirably resisted. They saw their previous error and have consciously avoided it. Remaining isolated from family and friends was also one of their errors, which they have addressed," the Lord disagreed. "They have successfully reconnected with many of them and are taking steps to connect with more. They continue to accept one another and the differences in their calling in life. They listen, they pray. I say they are well on their way to meeting this particular challenge," the Lord maintained.
Satan considered the Lord's words, working out the best way to prove his point and win his challenge with the Lord.
"You may return when you have prepared your counter move," the Lord suggested when he gave no reply.
"I shall," Satan promised, and with that he took his leave.
