I need to learn how to drive. I'm how old? And I still don't know how to drive. But in my defense Kaylie can't either, most "magically inclined" people can't. Vampire? Why would they, they can just run. Werewolf? They literally can transform into their own type of car. Witch? Why drive when you can teleport. And me? Why would a demon know how to drive, can't we just get some poor unfortunate soul to draw a star on the floor and "summon" us? Well yes, but that's been banned for decades.
So why can't I drive? Simple really, to drive legally you need a license, to get a license you have to sit in a car with a stranger, and I just don't want that.
So no license, no driving. Can't explain why I'd turn invisible when the cop starts yelling at me, be safe kids, no driving if when pulled over you "disappear" when put under pressure. They should get a demon to work for the driving place, would make things much easier. So much easi-
"Sang?" Damn, always ruining my personal thoughts. Turning and seeing Kaylie's big smile in the seat next to me, my face stretches into a matching one and flushes up.
"Tonight's the night, I feel more elated than usual." She chirps while slightly bouncing in the seat turned towards me with her forearm placed on the back seat and her right leg bent on the cushion.
She's right, I feel like I can breathe better then before, but at the same time it feels like I'm a stretching rubber band, ready to burst and breathe again "What do you think it is?"
    "I don't know, but I hope it's ice cream."
"Gross, I hope not." Kaylie is a food junkie, she eats everything in sight and cares not if she gains a pound or two. Neither of us do really, I just care about what exactly is in what I eat, but I can't say no to food either.
"Your such a health nut, we're almost there." Turning away from me and pressing her face against the window she makes a shooing gesture with her small hands. "Don't come any closer! The weird guy from 02 has his hands down his pants again." Turning my way again with a scrunched nose and puckered lips and laughs and reaches to the front and asks how much the rides gonna cost.
"Listen lady, I drive you how many times, to the exact same place and you still ask how much? The price aint gonna get any lower sweetie." Dressed in a baseball hat and jean jacket with a white shirt is our designated driver that's not so designated. He lives the closest so responds faster which is why he's always stuck with her. Notice I said "her" cause baby I'm a delight.
Popping the case off my phone and pulling out a twenty, I hand it over while rolling my eyes and chuckling while I open the door and step out. Spotting the warehouse I wait as Kaylie stumbles out and shuts the door. "Uuuuuuw, we're here, are you ready Sang?"
"No" I bluntly say with a smile on my face as she smacks my arm and we stride toward the door. "Who are you?" Says a gruff voice belonging to a man dressed in all black with wet black hair. "Look Sang, you and him could be twins! Finally someone to sympathise with you about cat fur on your black clothes. Your new, what's your name?" When does she ever shut up? Honestly I love her, but she's going to get us beat up one day. We don't even have a damn cat.
"I'm Sang and this is Kaylie." I find it so hard not to just walk by without the need for this, we've never had to say our names. But I can't, he's intriguing, and I can't point why. Nodding while switching between mine and Kaylie's eyes he backs up and lets us pass.
Still feeling a bit off, I walk closer to Kaylie than usual. The feeling from before is heightened now that we're inside, he let me breathe for a bit when he spoke to us, and now we're past him I can't grasp a breathe, my lungs are stuttering more then me in sixth grade when Marie would find a way to get me to talk about the most embarrassing things in front of the whole class.
Walking down the dark red hall with empty frames lining our sides and a few tumbled to the ground, I feel my brows scrunching the further we get from the big ball of black at the door, he didn't give us a name. And the thought of that is bugging me more then it should, nevermind the fact that we don't get ignored, cause I mean let's get real. We're too pretty, I'm bugging from the fact that I got absolutely no read on him, none at all. I couldn't see past what he wanted us to see, but from Kayli's smug look I'm guessing she did, and it somehow works in our favor.
Kayli has a great power, she's basically a mind reader. Hell's gates and ticking clocks you say that though, she can rant on and on about how she can't technically read minds, she only gets suggestions, if someone's thoughts are leaning towards something she gets the gist.
Like say I were to suddenly start thinking of her and I back at our place, in any room really, doing anything at all, nothing specific, just something I certainly enjoy. But not something specific at all, she'd turn towards me, like she's doing now, and give a small screech and swat at my arm and tell me to "cut it out". And then storm down the hall further away to sit at our usual space in a back booth. She's honestly such a contradiction.
Smirking to myself and walking towards where the bar is I go ahead and call over Derek, a fellow demon who has just so happened to share a few intimate moments with me and Kaylie, some of those happening here at this very spot on the bar. Calling out to him while leaning against the spot, with my head in my hands, I watch as he stops his flirting with the cute warlock in front of him to turn my way. Watching as he mutters a few parting words with him and drops his rag into a bin and comes my way. As he walks towards me with his head bent down and staring at me as if I'm a woman on her period who's just fell into shark infested waters I begin to say "So sorry to distract you from the little witch, he was very appealing." While smirking and leaning more across the bar to where he's standing before me with his palms spread wide on the table with his head ducked down to my level and long pieces of blue hair dropping from his ponytail to tickle against my face. "But I need mine and Kayli's usual, be a dear and have those sent to our usual table will you." Standing and brushing my cheek against his I turn and head across the room, feeling his dark gaze on my lingering form, I'm not at all worried that he'll ignore my wish and continue talking to the little warlock. I can tell he liked him, but not enough to ignore an old bed friend, yet.
Smiling towards the random drunk dancers I cut my way through, I head towards where I know Kayli is, probably flirting with a random human, she has a thing for the nerds.
Hearing her giggle from where I am, I can't help but turn my smile wider and more genuine as I slightly laugh at her attempt to giggle, she just can't.
Yet she keeps doing it, not wanting to consider at all that something about her that is such a big part of what makes her happy, flirting, isn't perfect. Looking up from the human that brushed against me I turn towards our table and the smile drops from my face.
