The woman continues to smile at me and I stare dumbfounded back at her, this foreigner knows who I am and they are still just standing there staring? There must have been something lost in translation at the train station because I noticed she spoke to me in English. English is a dying language and very few people speak it anymore, and even fewer speak it as a second language. When I became an assassin, I decided to learn English. This woman is lucky I speak English like it was my first language. I glare at her again,
"Get out of my way foreigner!" I shout in English with a slight accent that I masked very well if I do say so myself. The woman's smile grows and I growl under my breath, what is wrong with the Motunuamoloupen?
"I am glad you speak English too, that way nothing will be lost in translation and there will be no witnesses. Please, come with me." Before the woman can walk away, I step in front of her,
"You know who I am, do you know what I do?" The tips of the woman's pointed ears start turning grey, which means she's bored, the Motunuamoloupen people have pointed ears because of their powers but the ends of their pointed ears also glow the color of their strongest emotion at the time. Her ears stay grey as she tells me with a rude sigh,
"Yes I know very well what you do. In fact, that is why I need to talk with you. Come over here, no one will see us here." She walks around me and into a slightly concealed alley that smelled like stale urine. I laughed at her stupidity and decided to go along with it, I could always kill her after.
"You do realize that you are inviting an assassin into a dark alley with you?" I asked with a chuckle, she looked back at me and seemed unsure until her face became impassive,
"Yes, I know." I laughed loudly at that and her ears started to glow a golden yellow of caution which only made me laugh more and shout,
"Lpyurutau fork no!" Rkilagua help me! I continued laughing like the maniac I was while I followed her into the shadows.
The woman was leaning against the grimy building wall across from me while I stood in place and pretended to check my nails while I was really keeping an eye on her hands, making sure she didn't pull any weapons. She cleared her throat and began her monotone speech,
"I am Agent Garcia from Investigators National, I was hired to find Ms. Brittany Lewis's murder and I got an anonymous tip that you would know something about it with you also being an assassin." I glanced up at her, was she implying that I killed Ms. Lewis? Honestly, I don't remember if I did or not.
"And do you have a picture of this Brittany Lewis?" I asked, figuring if I did kill Brittany I could always kill Agent Garcia as well. She patted around her black leather jacket looking for a photo, while she did this I noticed no signs of concealed weapons which is odd unless she has deadly powers which is rare. Finally, Garcia pulled out a white piece of paper with the face of Brittany Lewis on it. I squinted at the photo, she was standing with no expression on her pale face, she had short, messy, auburn hair, wide forest green eyes and freckles resting on top of her nose and under her doe eyes. She had a rag of a blue shirt and a brown heart that looked like it had been hand stitched on to the old fabric, I had never seen this girl a day in my miserable life. I let my arms swing by my sides, still clutching the photo and looked to Agent Garcia,
"Never seen this girl a day in my life," Garcia sighed and her ears glowed a resigned blue,
"She was Motunuamoloupen, she was a Water Master and a Relentless Hunter. She immigrated to Republic of Rkilagua during the Great Power Outage of Motunuamoloupe, she lived here most of her life and a rumor says she was in a relationship with an assassin." I looked at the photo again but closer, I could kind of see the pointed ears coming through her hair. I mocked seriousness,
"Oh, so this is a personal assignment?" She looked up sharply and her ears flashed an angry red but before she could say anything I cut her off,
"You know too much, you are smart to put the pieces together but this is my life and I take it seriously so I can't have you tell anyone else." I say looking into her angry green eyes,
"I wont tell anyone, but my bosses-"
"You see, that's the problem right there. Your bosses can't know so you shouldn't be able to tell them, I could cut out your tongue but you'd still be able to identify me, so I could cut out your eyes as well but by then you'd already be as good as dead." I stand there waiting for the fear to sink in, her eyes widen as she realizes that I'm going to kill her, that she should've never taken an assassin into a shadow. Her ears glow a fearful red and I smile an evil smile as I draw my swords, but when I slash my swords at her face, she jumps straight up and attaches on the wall above my head like a spider would. Crap she's a Wall Crawler, I think to myself as I continue to cut at her legs while she attempts to evade me. I can't reach her head and go for a quick kill, so I have to keep cutting her up so she'll bleed out, I didn't want to kill her like this but beggars can't be choosers, I'm starting to think I might steal that from Paige. As I continue to cut her legs, blood rains down on top of me and I know I am going to be a sight to see when I'm done. Her movements start to get slower and less vigorous, until she finally drops down from the wall and passes out from blood loss. I poke her cheek with my sword and when she doesn't move I figure she's almost dead if not already, so I wipe my swords and leave her in that grimy alley. I wish I would've looked closer, I wish I would've finished the job when I noticed her ears were glowing green.
