A few days have come to pass yet there was no word from Saya. It seemed like she vanished in to thin air all of a sudden. There is no way to look for her so I have been waiting for her to return since the day she left the mansion. I never felt like doing anything so I often confined myself to the room contemplating deep in my thoughts.
Late evening on a stormy day...
The room was tainted with the smell of alcohol and tobacco. I was sitting near the large glass window in my room finishing up the second bottle of wine for the day. I felt very cold, so I put on the night robe over my pajamas. Suddenly there was a knock on the door and then it opened.
"Yes, James...!" I said softly after keeping my glass on the small table in front of me.
"Good evening master...! I just wanted to confirm about the dinner tonight... I am afraid to say that our menu tonight is rather limited to few choices since the chef is on sick leave" James said as he walked in.
"Jus' skip the dinner... I am not hungry..." I said followed by a sigh.
"Master... you haven't had anything the whole day and you've been drinking since the morning...!" James said with a slight stammer.
"I don't know James... I think I am going crazy..." I said after a smirk.
"Please don't say that Master Han...! Since the day Saya left, you have been living miserably like an alcoholic; it pains me to see you pass time like this..." James said in a concerned tone.
"Maybe Alan was right... there is something about her. Ever since she left I began to feel hopeless over everything..." I said after taking another sip of wine.
"I spoke to Alan this morning and he said you will be alright in few more days..." said James.
"It doesn't matter what he says James, She could have been a great scientific discovery but we lost her..." I said.
Suddenly something struck my mind.
"James...!! Could you please get me my wallet...!" I said in an enthusiastic way.
He quickly bought it for me.
"How come I forgot all about it...?" I said to myself while quickly going through it.
James eagerly hovered next to me without knowing the ups or downs of what I am after.
I took the small card which Hagi gave me when I met him.
"What is it master...?" he asked.
"This belongs to someone who knew Saya for a very long time..." I said with a toothy grin while grabbing my phone.
"I don't understand master Han...! What do you mean by someone who knows Saya...?" James asked me.
"Do you remember the man she left with on the night we went for the opera...?" I asked him.
"Yes I do remember but you haven't told me that you made contact with him..." James said.
"His name is "Hagi"..., He made contact with me and left this card..." I said.
"It is hard to believe that there is some who knows her..." James said.
"He is her chevalier; they have been with each other for centuries..." I said.
I entered the code in the card to my phone by scanning it. It shows "Invalid". I tried scanning it several times and the results were the same.
"Damn it...!" I said.
