In to the long good night...!

Dear reader...!

It has been almost 4 years since I started writing this and due to various reasons, it has been progressing very slowly. Initially, I never intended this fanfiction to get this long. One time I even thought of discontinuing it because of the low readings and fans but then again one avid reader encouraged me to write it further. So here is the end and I hope all of you will like it...! it may not be the end you want but please do not despair as for this is just a fanfiction. This final chapter which I called "Into the long good night..." will wrap up everything and bring things into an ultimate conclusion. I wrote this chapter during the Covid-19 lockdown and it may contain errors. I checked everything so far yet it is easy to miss errors.

"Saya...!" I said softly again yet she did not respond, instead, she stood still for a moment then slowly turned around to face me. She slowly raised her head revealing her face which was covered from her hair.

Her eyes were glowing red and her fangs are visible now. Her face and lips were tainted with bloodstains.

Her arms are also covered in blood up to the elbows.

She licked her fingers while walking towards me with an eerie smile on her face.

I also noticed that the whole place is scattered with animal corpses. I felt that something wasn't right but I chose to stand still to face her.

Then she stopped at about fifteen feet away from me.

"Han...?" she said softly as her psychotic smile slowly faded.

"Yes..., it is me... Han...!" I said softly.

"Are you afraid of me...? I sense fear in you" She spoke softly.

I took a step further towards her.

"Please don't come any closer..." she said and looked away then slowly turned around facing her back towards me.

"I don't understand... all these rotting corpses and blood..." I tried to speak up my mind.

She suddenly laughed mirthlessly letting her head fall back and then turned at me with a psychotic facial expression.

"My dear Han...! How sweet of you to come looking for me..., like a naïve little boy who goes looking for his lost cat in the night..." she said in a psychotic tone, and her smile had returned to her face.

She walked towards me like a predator approaching its prey. I stood still without making any sudden movements.

She kept a steady smile while having her eyes locked on to me as I stood still.

"You are the perfection... the finest presentation of your species at their pinnacle of evolution..." She whispered as she walked behind me.

"My species...?" I asked her.

She smirked.

"Have I ever told you how wonderful you smell...?" She said softly and then slowly ran her arms around me from behind. She cuddled me from behind and laid her head against my back.

"Oh... how I wish to feast on every drop of your blood..." she said while nuzzling me.

I slowly turned back to face her. She looked up at me with tears in her eyes and I held her from her biceps.
