Andrea's POV:

"Oh, oh, trouble trouble trouble. Oh, oh, ..." I shot up fast to the most annoying over played song there might possibly be, an quickly turned off my alarm. It was 8:30 AM on Saturday August 19th. yay! My first day working at Capstone the new diner a few blocks away from my house.

I stood up, my feet hitting my warm fuzzy rug I got from my auntie for Christmas last year. I breathed in and smelt eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast, dads usual Saturday breakfast. I got up and grabbed my dark wash blue jeans which were on a chair by my closet. I pulled off my small fuzzy black pj shorts that I bought on my last shopping spree. Revealing my black thong. I put my feet in my pants an pulled them up over my hips. I then grabbed a burgundy crop top tee and threw it on. Checking in the mirror once more. I threw my hair in a messy bun on the top of my head and tied it with dark brown elastic not quite matching my dirty blonde hair. I got specific instructions to wear my hair up. I got up and walked across my room to my bath room where my make-up is. I quickly put on a bit of foundation, did my eyebrows and eye shadow and finishing my look with mascara.

I slowly made me way out of my room after doing some last touch ups, including deodorant, my signature body spray and socks. "mmm, smells good!" I said hoping my dad would take my compliment and not make me stay and eat, don't get me wrong I loved his food and everything I just didn't want to be late for my first day of work! "yep, I guess that's what happens when your the best cook in the family!" I raised an eye brow "oh really, wait till mom comes in and say that." I joked "I don't think that will happen." he said with a small smile. "so what time do you work at?" he asked as I sat down "ten" I said plainly "oh well it's only nine thirty, you have time to eat!" he said trying to get my attention "I'd love to dad but I have to go brush my teeth and then I better go, I want to be a bit early, you know first day at my first job.. want to make an impression.. a good one." I said trying to convince him "okay, okay.. go on." he said shooing me. I gave him a small smile.

I walked up the stairs nearly bumping into my brother Jason, "watch it." he said grumpily like he ha just woke up which he probably did. "wow someone's in a bad mood.." I said winking. Jason is my older brother he's 16 and had dirty blonde hair like me and my mom and is also homeschooled.. him on the other hand does not have a job. He glared at me as I continued up the wooden stairs. "mom, what time are you and dad going for coffee at the Flemings?" I asked my mother as she passed me in the hallway, the Flemings were a family friend and my parents were going to the 'couples game night' that happened every other Saturday evening "at seven honey, same as every other Saturday for the past year." She said with a half smile "right, I guess in just forgetful.." I said before walking back to my bedroom.

After I brushed my teeth and finished getting ready I decided it was time to leave it was 9:45. I left my room closing my door behind me. I made my way down stairs glancing at my family "hey, I'm leaving now." I said grabbing my grey converse of the shoe rack "okay hun, have fun, work hard, be nice, smile, don't complain.." my mom trailed off "oh and the customers always right!" my dad finished "ok got it." I grabbed my brown leather purse of the hook and turned for the door "oh Andy if you see any hot girls give them my number." Jason said winking sometimes Jason calls me Andy. I rolled my eyes at him. as I walked outside my face hitting the cool summer air I breathed in smelling the scent of freshly cut grass and dandelions. I smiled as I made my way down our grey driveway.

I walked the few blocks to the Capstone the new restaurant I'd be working at for hopefully a while. The Capstone opened only a few weeks ago but I finally got my résumé made and into the boss. finally I was in front of my new workplace, The Capstone. I cleared my throat and walked up the the very clean glass door, I opened it and the bell above me rang as I walked in the smell of eggs and muffins and cinnamon hit me, the few people inside glanced at me as I walked in as if I had just ruined there conversation, I smiled at a lady who looked about 45, she just glared back. I started to walk up to the till when Mary-Ann my new boss saw me "Andrea, right?" She asked smiling brightly "uh, yeah!" I said giving a small smile back "alright why don't you come around here and go to the back and get a apron on, and we will get you started!" She said gesturing to the back where a big steel door was I smiled and went around the counter, it felt so... weird being behind the cash register instead of in front of it forking out ten dollars for a coffee and eggs and toast. I walked to the back not looking at anyone trying to not make eye contact, because it was...well...awkward. showing up and just trying to do someone's job, it seemed rude. I walked up to a big blue bin full of black aprons, I quickly grabbed it the soft fabric hitting my delicate hands, I wrapped the two strings around my waist into a tight bow. "okay so Selena will show you how we make soup first." My new boss Mary-Ann suddenly appearing in front of me, Mary-Ann seemed about 30, she had black yoga pants on and a white v-neck t-shirt on "okay." I said as excitedly as possible "come with me.." she turned in her heels and started to walk by what I assume the make their famous salads at. "this is Selena, Selena this is Andrea or new employee." my boss said to a short girl with black leggings and a purple mid-length shirt. this 'Selena' girl had her hair in a braid on the back of her head she didn't look like she had long hair at all "uh, hi" I said smiling shyly at her "hi, in Selena." she said back giving me a sly smirk "alright girls get ready we have a busy afternoon ahead of us, I need you girls to get on those soups!" Mary-Ann said a little too enthusiastic for my liking, but I smiled at her and then turned to Selena "okay so I already picked out four different soups for today but we have to make them, so c'mon and ill show you!" Selena smiled and walked across the kitchen, we walked by a tall guy with long brown pony tail that look about 25 and not very pleased with the world. "Alright, so can take the plastic wrap off the top, please!" Selena asked me giving me an awkward smile, I turned and mumbled a 'yep' and started to peel off the white plastic off the top of the soup. "Just plop em' in there." Selena said pointing to a tin bucket I assumed they cook the soup in, "for, sure.." I mumbled just a a light warm breeze hit my shoulders and I heard the steel door open and shut, but I needed to focus so I continued to peel the plastic off the four containers and plop them into the tin bucket in which they would cook in. "done.." I said quietly but enthusiastically "great! now fill this with water and dump it in the container, 2 for each container." Selena said cheerfully, I smiled and walked to the sink and turned the blue tap, the cool water spilling out kind of making me have to pee. "you're new.." said a voice beside me, I looked up and noticed a boy with short blonde hair and piercing blue eyes who looked about the same age as me maybe a little older. "Oh, um..yeah I am." I said hoping he didn't make it awkward but he continued to stare at me like he was amazed at how I could fill a small plastic container with water, I furrowed my eyebrows at him as if to say 'what?' But of course he just started. I felt on the tip of my thumb wet and cool as if water were touching it and in this case it was.. I turned the tap off and walked back over to Selena and dumped it the bucket and she smiled approvingly and grabbed the container and put it in a small soup heater I walked back to the boy by the sink who was now doing dishes in the 3 deep steel side-by-side sinks he looked up at me his eyes meeting mine but he didn't say anything, 'has he never seen a girl before?' I thought "I'm Andrea." I said hoping to get something from him "I'm Cole."
