Ch.15 the first time I believed..

"Betty." I exhale once we reach her hospital room.
"Jug." She smiles. "Hi! Hi Toni!"
"You okay?" I ask.
"We will leave you be, Elizabeth." Her mom, I assume, says and her parents exit the room.
"I will be. Doctors told me this happened because I have a special soul mate connection. I can emotionally, and physically feel their feelings. I might also at some point maybe hear their thoughts."
I start to have a panic attack, it all makes sense. She has to be my soul mate I get hurt and magically she is in here because of a "special" soul mate connection? I can't seem to get enough oxygen. Betty's heart rate monitor starts going off faster. "Calm down, both of you." Toni begs. "Deep breaths, Jug."
"Copy my breathing. It's okay." She says as she embraces me. I try to copy her but I can also feel Betty's jealousy.
"So.. So we're soul mates?" Betty questions after we have all calmed down.
"I am going with, yes."
Betty rolls her eyes at my answer. "So what happened last night? After our date?"
"Uh. That's a long and personal story."
"Oh." She murmurs, disappointed.
"Jones. She deserves to know." Toni mutters.
"Yeah, I know. But not now. We both need to heal first."
"Yeah, well, you know I'll hold you to that."
"Betty. We will let you rest, okay? I'll get ahold of you later. Promise."
"Uhm, sure. That's fine. Bye."
"Bye." Toni and I say at the same time.
I get stopped in the hallway by Alice.
"So your Jughead?"
"Yes, I am."
"I got my eyes on you, Jones. Don't hurt her."
"Yes ma'am. Don't plan on it."
-- "I'll have you know I'm nothing like him." I say as I go to walk away.
She nods and then goes back into Betty's room with her husband.
"Come on. Let's go find your dad." Toni says and then we are off, leaving my soul mate to hopefully get some rest.
