Voices. That's all she had been hearing since she had laid down for a rest that she knew would never come. They were quite loud inside her head, and that only made her heart race with fear. She was terrified of what they would say, their snarky remarks always were like an arrow shot to the heart to the sensitive girl--Alicia. She whimpered, covering her ears with the feathery pillow as best as she could, but it wouldn't help because the voices were all inside her head. Stupid, annoying thoughts bumped against the back of her eyelids, causing her to only close them tighter.

Stumbling out of her bed, her nightgown, which used to be her older brothers shirt that he had grown out of, brushed against her knees with every movement she took as she hastily went to her bathroom inside the silent apartment she rented. Her shaky hands reached for the small drawer as she took out the small bag of cocaine, dumping the last of it onto the counter. She stared at it for a minute as she sat on the toilet. Quickly lowering her head down, she snorted the white, powdery substance that would silence the voices if only for an hour at max.

She clutched her head, digging her nails into her scalp as the voices slowly disappaited within her mind, silencing. A breath she didn't know she had been holding escaped her pink lips, tears trickling from her eyes. She just wanted the voices to stop, she had asked kindly and when that didn't work she started screaming at them...and when that didn't work she ignored them, but that didn't work either. Alicia didn't want to get help; she didn't want to get judged and called crazy by people she didn't even know, because she knew one thing.

She wasn't crazy, the voices were real, right?

A/N: Okay, so that might not of been the best prologue, but I liked it. I've had short-term Insomnia (It lasted for about 2 weeks or so?) and it wasn't fun, and I thought I was crazy for not being able to sleep, but I never heard voices or anything so-

Anyways, I really did like this prologue and if I don't continue this feel free to leave me a comment (or punch me in the face, or even both) to remind me. Okay? Okay.
