ch. 6 - i promise that one day i'll feel alright
☕️
changbin decided to stay home the next day to be with hyunjin for whatever he was going through.
hyunjin, as always, was fast asleep and had his lips pouted. changbin gushed, but then swiftly shook his head. that's gay. wait- i'm gay-
sighing to himself, changbin went to the kitchen to try out the new recipe he found online. Looking through the different flavors of syrup, he took the one labeled 'mint syrup'.
he quickly made a cup of espresso and mixed the syrup within it. (y'all idk how this works i'm so sorry if i'm doing anything wrong).
to finish, he topped it off with whipped cream and crushed candy canes. smiling in satisfaction, he slowly strolled over to his room, making sure not the spill any of the espresso.
setting the cup on the bedside table, changbin lightly pushed hyunjin's body to wake him up.
groaning, hyunjin squirmed and opened his eyes. rubbing his eyes in a cute manner, hyunjin grinned at changbin.
"morning!"
changbin stared at hyunjin like he was crazy. "how can you be so energetic in the morning?"
hyunjin shrugged, giggling at changbin's expression. he noticed the cup, and looked back up at changbin.
"oh! right. i made this for you. tell me your honest opinions. i love constructive criticism."
hyunjin excitedly took a sip out of the cup, and gasped at the flavor. "it tastes like peppermint!"
changbin chuckled. "well, duh. it's peppermint espresso," he ruffled hyunjin's hair, making him blush in response.
"so.. do you wanna tell me why you were crying yesterday?"
hyunjin's gleeful expression dropped. sighing, he sat up straight and nodded. "i guess.. everything just hit me yesterday like a truck. like, the reason i'm here. i don't even know why you invited me to stay with you, i was so selfish back then when i left you," he buried his head into his hands.
"uh.. can you tell me why you left me now..?" changbin looked down at his hands, and anxiously played with his rings.
hyunjin didn't answer. changbin took that as a no, and moved on. he didn't want hyunjin to be uncomfortable by repeatedly asking him the same thing over and over again when it's clear he doesn't want to answer.
"so, you okay now? just forget about your parents, they're stupid and naive," changbin glared at hyunjin with concerned eyes, making hyunjin intimidated. he nodded.
"good. remember, you're safe now, and i care about you a ton, okay? obviously i'm not gonna prison you in here, though. you can leave any time you want. i just want you to be happy."
