The weekends come and go so fast for most but for me Monday takes for ever to get here. School drives me crazy but I would rather be there then with my dad. He isn't the nicest man on earth if we're being honest here. So eight hours listening to a teacher bore on about stuff I already know is better then eight hours locked in my room.

On the bright side though, today dad has work so I'll have 2 hours after school to myself. I love the 2 hours, but his temper gets worse when he works.

6:00 am my alarm goes off. I'm super tired, I really shouldn't have stayed up reading that book all night, but come on I couldn't just wait to see if they got together.

I get out of bed and grab some clothes, a white long sleeve and some jeans. When I get the rest of my stuff, I go shower quickly, so I can start breakfast.

A nice hot shower did me some justice. There's no heat in my room, sadly, and it's October. Cleaning the steam off the window gave me a little bit of joy. Seeing myself In the mirror my eyes automatically go to the bruise on my face. Dad normally never hurts me unless I piss him off when he's drunk. Which of course I just had to do. It was my fault, I was carrying his coffee to him and accidentally tripped and spilled it on him. I didn't mean to do it, but it angered him very badly till, he lost control and grabbed my head and shoved it into the counter. I think he felt bad after, because he mumbled a sorry and went to his room.

I try and cover up the bruise the best I can with concealer and foundation, times like these are the only times I am allowed to wear makeup. I brush my teeth and comb through my long blonde hair. I got my mother's complexion but my fathers forest green eyes. In the mirror I see the same eyes that terrify me so bad some nights, looking back at me. For that reason I will never be as pretty as the people in the books I read.

I go into the kitchen and start the eggs and bacon. Make the same food every morning for dad. Eggs, bacon, and toast. Always a fresh pot of coffee.

While I'm taking the toast out of the toaster he arrives down stairs. I would be lying if I said I was not scared, I mean who knows what kind of mood he will be in today. "Good morning." I say because he hates to not be recognized when entering a room.

"Indeed it is, looks like someone actually could do something right for once." Dad says while moving to the table. I am glad that he sleeps in late because he gets up right around when the bus gets here.

As I walk over to give him his breakfast the shoulder to my shirt falls down. I quickly hand him his food and pull it back up. I hope to god he didn't see that.

Nope he saw it. Before I could hurry out the door he grabbed my arm and gripped it tight. "LillyAnn what the hell do you think you're wearing? Huh? You believe it's okay to wear stuff like that so all the boys at school will stare. No daughter of mine will go around and act like that. You just wait till you get home." He screamed at me while tightening his grip even more. There definitely is going to be a bruise there.

As if luck was on my side, the school bus showed up. "Dad please let go the bus is here. I am going to be late." I plead with him.
