He smiles down at me and continues. He is by far the best lover I've had.
"I want you to never forget me," he says mischievously as he continues on his pace. I loose count of my orgasms as the night continues, finally as the first pink fingers of light stretch over the sky, he thrusts hard twice and I can feel his orgasm all the way to my toes as I join him. We lay there a tangle of limbs and sweat as the sun finishes rising. Pine finds us just as I am dozing off.
"Time to get up," he says cheerfully.
"I don't want to," I mumble.
"You don't get a choice we have two more days of riding," he says and then turns and leaves the tent. I reluctantly open my eyes and realize I was sleeping in Evergreen's bed. I roll onto my side and look to find Evergreen laying next to me. I pull on my clothes and armor and eat a piece of dried meat and bread in the saddle as Pine leads us down the road for the day. I catch some of the men staring at Evergreen and me.
"I think the gigs up," I comment when we stop for lunch.
"What do you mean?" Evergreen asks stealing a kiss.
"I think your men know I'm more than just your councilor," I say catching several of them stealing glances.
"So, let them stare, for I am in love," Evergreen says.
"I don't think they'd like to hear that," I retort feeling a conflict of emotion again.
"I don't care what they think," Evergreen replies. "You will be my queen." I clamp my mouth shut rather than argue with this stubborn man. We mount up and ride the rest of the day. I manage to catch a nap in my saddle and am thankful when we finally stop to make camp for the night.
"Anyone else tired of dried meat and stale bread," I call out as I unload the cooking gear. A hearty chorus of voices answer me. "Good, I'm going to go hunt us up some real food." I grab my bow and arrows and my favorite game bag. I head out into the woods and turn to find Evergreen and Pine following me. "What are you two doing?" I demand as I gather some roots.
"We wanted to watch you in action," Evergreen says.
"By we, he means him. I just came along to protect him from harm," Pine says smiling.
"I think you are afraid to leave us alone together," I tease handing Evergreen the bag and showing him what to pick. I jump up into the trees and watch the game scurry around me. I notch an arrow and peg the rabbit in the head. I then notch another arrow and hit a couple of tasty birds. I drop out of the tree and gather my game. I turn to find Pine watching me carefully.
"Do it again," he says.
"Do what again?" I ask genuinely confused.
"Disappear into the trees like that," he demands like I'm slow. I shrug and jump into the trees again. I peg two more birds, a squirrel, and another rabbit while Pine studies me. I drop out of the trees again and hand him the bag.
"You carry the meat, it's heavy," I say. I find Evergreen has found a variety of edible berries, roots, and wild vegetables. I fill the pot about half full of water and clean the vegetables and roots, I quickly dice them up and dump them into the pot. I then throw in the squirrel meat and some of the smaller birds. I set up a smaller fire and a spit and roast the remaining meat.
