"What happens if it leads to war?" I mumble against his chest.

"Then I'll have to have my War councilor suit up and help me plan my battles," he teases. "We'll do this together, besides I have a sure way to shut up even the most stubborn of people."

"And what is that?" I ask trying to look into his eyes.

"Do not worry yourself about it," Evergreen says looking over my head at Pine.

"So where will we be stopping next?" Pine asks watching us.

"I haven't decided yet, it will probably be somewhere around here as the next clan sent people over to bow," I say.

"When did this happen?" Pine asks.

"They arrived about two hours ago. They heard we stormed the keep and put down a rabid dog."

"So they are saving themselves from slaughter," Pine says.

"I'd like to stop and visit them, just to get a feel," I say.

      "Sounds good," Pine says.

"You two decide where in this area we camp; I need to look for Lady Lark," I say.

"She is still in the library," Pine says. I nod and hurry from the tent. I make haste to the library and find Lark already deep into her research.

"I have a question and I think you are the only person I can ask," I say awkwardly.

"What's the matter?" she asks marking the page and shutting the book.

"I've heard, damn I'm no good at these things, I've heard rumors that the dragon born males have a talent and I was wondering if the rumor is true?" I say awkwardly.

"If you are referring to their ability to plant their seed or not, it is true. That is why dragon born children are special," she says. I sigh in relief for the thought of getting with child during this mess is unnerving, and it confirms that Evergreen spoke the truth.

"You've been laying with Evergreen," Lark says giving me a look.

     "A few times," I mumble.

"I knew it," she cheers. "It makes my research that much more important. I will need to prove these to be more than mere stories."

"Thank you," I say. "Will I be able to tell if he chooses to plant his seeds as you say?"

"Only when you miss your cycle," she says with a grin. "My mother was very unhappy with father over Osprey."

     "Oh," I mutter and blush.

"Your secret is safe with me, I've wanted nothing more than to lead my clan into this century, and you have given me that chance."

"Then you are welcome and thank you. Visit me in the tower in six months so we can catch up," I say and slide back out of the library and run into Pine.

"What are you doing here so late?" he asks.

"I needed to talk to a female," I say cryptically.

"And you choose to spill your secrets with Lark?" he asks.

"I find her trustworthy," I retort. "Why are you here?"
