"Aww, Y/N, she'll forgive you soon." Yerim reassured as she brushed your hair gently with her fingers while you cried in her arms."I mean, w-we've had arguments before, but this one r-really s-s-stings..." You said between cries, your voice shaky.
Yerim stayed quiet, but continued comforting you physically, the silence surprisingly calming you down. Once you pulled yourself together, you began wiping your remaining tears and sat up.
"Besides, d-don't you have your own problems? Your hallucinations?"
Yerim sighed.
"They're more frequent now...I don't know why, though. Each one is more personal and painful. It's like they're trying to tell me something..." Yerim described with a worried expression, placing up a hand to her temple.
"Maybe you should find a doctor...I can help you, you know?" You reassured back, earning a small smile from Yerim. "Why are you so nice to me?" Yerim whispered to herself.
"Huh?"
"Nothing."
"Well-"
You were interrupted by a loud bang outside, followed by an air-rippling sound, so loud, yet so disturbing. You rushed to your window and looked up, your eyes widening.
The loud screams of people flooded your eardrums as a building was knocked down, knocking the rest of the row like dominos.
You cursed to yourself as you grabbed Yerim by the arm and rushed toward the door. "Y/N-"
"We need to go now!" You frantically said, opening your apartment door. You two ran out immediately, along with some other neighbors, and went to the bottom floor, where you saw another building crash in front of the entrance, but not large enough to block it.
"Everyone, please stay inside!" A receptionist yelled, keeping everyone inside the building, with people panicking and huddling together. Suddenly, the chandelier shook violently and the large decoration fell, the glass shattering everywhere.
"Move!" You yelled while pushing Yerim out of the way as a small fire arose, its size steadily increasing. "RUN!" A woman screamed, making everyone run around in a panic.
Everything seemed hopeless all over again, the feeling returning like deja vu. While your thoughts became too blurry to think correctly, Yerim looked around, trying to find an exit. "There!" She pointed at an exit door near the kitchen. You nodded and you two ran toward the exit, covering your nose and mouth from the increasing smoke.
Finally, you two rushed out of the ruined building, lives barely over the edge. You coughed up the toxic substance in your system, your throat painfully dry. "Are you okay?" Yerim asked, placing a hand behind your shoulder. You nodded as the final coughs left your body.
