It was a few weeks after Christmas and today was the day back to school since Christmas break. I'd decided to curl my hair and I did it quickly. "Let's fucking go!" I heard Keaton scream at me.

Keaton normally gave me rides since I hated driving in snowy weather. I moaned and realized I didn't care all that much about what I looked like.

I pulled my hair back into a low bun. I was with Ethan, so looking good wasn't so important anymore.

"I'll be down in a second!" I called back. I grabbed my bag and slung it over my shoulder. I checked my phone and seen SnapChat notifications.

A lot of my snaps were from guys. I'd left a lot of them on delivered. Not to be a bitch, but I had Ethan. I know I could have removed them, but E knew I didn't talk to them.

I walked downstairs and smiled to Keaton. "You curled your hair just to put it into a bun?" He asked. I shrugged.

"It was a last minute decision." I explained. He laughed and opened the front door. I followed behind him as he got into his car.

We arrived to the school and I noticed how most people had worn sweatpants today, clearly tired.

"Bye, P. I'll see you at lunch," I was honestly so lucky to have the same lunch as my boyfriend and brother. Lots of people don't even have lunch with their friends.

I watched Keaton walk away, heading to his locker. I glanced up and seen Ethan. A smile overspread both our faces.

He continued towards me, as did I. In the middle of the hallway, I grabbed him and pulled him into kiss him. It felt like something straight out of a movie.

I felt butterflies as he grabbed onto my waist, pulling me in closer. I heard Ethan's friends whoop and cheer behind us. I laughed as we pulled away. "I am so glad that we're not a secret."

"It's going to be amazing." I told him. "I love you so much." Speaking of amazing, we hit two months a week ago or so.

"I love you so much more, Paisley Rose," he pulled me back in, kissing me yet another time. I giggled and I looked around. I seen everyone staring. Awkward.

I looked over at the main doors and seen Mia. My heart sank. Damn. She'd been wearing a baggy sweatshirt along with grey sweatpants. She wore no makeup and looked terrible. She didn't look terrible because she wore no makeup, she just looked ill.

"I'll be right back. I have to go do something,"

"What's up?" I looked in Mia's direction as I watched her fiddle with the lock on her locker. He turned and looked at her. "Oh. Alright. You're free to go."

I smiled and walked away. I headed towards Mia. She popped open her locker and looked at me. "Paisley, I don't want to hear it, please."

"I was going to ask how you were. You've been completely MIA for so long now. Are you okay?" I asked.

"Dad's gone. I'm by myself again, Paisley. You have no fucking idea how that shit feels. You've got a perfect guy like Ethan."

"I'm so sorry, Mia. I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you when I should have been. It's been so long without you."

Mia and her dad were close. He came and gone a lot. He left for a year then came back. It was kind of crazy.

"You should be fucking sorry." She reached into her bag and I watched her pull out a vape. She'd put it to her lips and I shook my head. "Fuck."

I pulled it from her hands. "I cannot let you do this to yourself." She attempted to grab it back but I held it away from her.

"What the hell, Paisley?! Give it back!" She shouted. I shook my head. "I'm serious!" She called out. This attracted lots of attention, even from E.
