Taehyung woke up next to Jimin, in Jimin's bed. The memories from the night before came folding back to him. Something about it didn't seem right. Yes, he enjoyed it, but he wished that it hadn't had Jimin attached. Jimin was his best friend and he didn't want things to change.
He didn't want to lose Jimin.
Taehyung slowly rolled out of bed and lied straight back down on the couch. He didn't want to think about the night before, but that was all he could think about. He wasn't attracted to Jimin in that way at all.
In a way, he felt guilty. Jimin had been through so much shit, so much heartbreak, and had been disappointed so many times. Taehyung didn't want to add a thing to that list. He was conflicted. He wanted to tell Jimin that he didn't see him in that way and it was all a mistake, but he also didn't want to make things harder for Jimin than they already are.
Taehyung's train of thought was interrupted by the door to Jimin's room open and closing.
"Morning, Tae." He said, speaking quietly. Jimin approached Taehyung and sat closely next to him on the couch. "I don't have work. What do you want to do today?"
"I, uh- was gonna work on some stuff for work."
"But Taeeeeee, you work for yourself and you shouldn't have to have a schedule."
"I know, but I have people paying me and expecting me to get things done by a certain time, and I have stuff due tomorrow."
"Okay... Can I watch?" Jimin asked.
"Fine." Taehyung said, getting up to go to his studio. Jimin followed him to the small, spare room that Taehyung did his work in. Taehyung was an artist, and he was quite good at it. He managed to find a way to make that his only source of income, and the only source he needed. Jimin was fascinated by Taehyung's art. He wondered how he did it, but Taehyung, before this, had never let him into his studio while he was working.
The two entered the room, and Taehyung sat by his workstation, and Jimin sat on a small couch in the corner of the room. The room was cozy, and felt like home. It felt lived in. Taehyung began to pull out everything that he needed, while Jimin watched intently.
"Tae.." Jimin spoke.
"Yes, Jimin?" Taehyung answered.
"You're like.. really good at that." Jimin said while pointing to the canvas.
"Thanks." Taehyung relied. He didn't want to admit it, but after... everything that happened, Taehyung felt quite uncomfortable. Once again, he had a feeling that this would ruin things between him and Jimin.
Regret was too strong of a word for Taehyung. It described what he was feeling, but it was hurtful. The last thing he wanted was for Jimin to be hurt again.
