Arranged Marriage.

Ash's POV

Today was the day I dreaded.....I would have to move back home and leave my friends and brother behind.

I stood by the front door. Tears streaming down my face as I said goodbye to my roommates and my brother.

"I'll visit if I can....Colby, can I talk to in private?"

"Sure."

We walked off into another room.

"I'm going to miss you a lot...I also have something to tell you."

"What'd you need to tell me?"

"Ever since I lived here, I've had feelings for you. I like you more than a friend."

We leaned in and kissed.

"I love you, bean."

"You too nerd." We walked out of the room and I looked at my phone.

"My soon-to-be husband will be here soon. He's about 10 minutes away."

I took one last selfie with my roommates and Colby.

I heard a car horn honk outside, so I grabbed my stuff and opened the door.

"Bye everyone...."

I walked out the door.

Months later, at a party my roommates hosted.

Colby's POV

It was late and everyone was wasted or nearly.  People started leaving, but one couple in particular stayed.
I walked in the living room and saw them dancing. I recognized one of them. It was Ash.

She completely changed. The way they danced was almost like routine. I noticed her eyes. They looked almost emotionless.

It was heartbreaking seeing her like that. When I saw her suitors eyes, I new he was enjoying seeing her like that. Emotionally frozen.

After they finished dancing I pulled Ash aside.

"Ash? Do you remember who I am?"

Her eyes, they looked almost glazed over, turned to normal and tears streamed down her face.

"How could I forget you, ya big nerd."
She threw her arms around my neck.

I hugged her back when I heard sobbing.

"I can't stand being married to him! He only cares about the money!"

"You don't need him."

"He won't-AHHHH!"

She grabbed at her neck. I noticed she had a shock collar on her neck.

"Help me!" She screamed.

It stopped and she was shaking.

"Why is there a shock collar on your neck?!" I said, trying to get it off.

"AHHHHHHHHH!" She screamed.

I looked at the dial on the collar and it was on red.

"GET IT OFF! PLEASE! I CAN'T TAKE MUCH MORE!"
