012. FIND IT IN HEART

( To be able to convince oneself do something despite one's reluctance. )

"I'm sorry I couldn't stop what they did to you, but please," the queen begged, "you have to help me."

To help was a charity; to be required was faith and to raise a connection. It was a blessing on both, the giver and the receiver, and this was for the sake of gratitude. Without the queen, Myra would have been left for dead.

She folded into herself at the corner of the dungeon, feeling the Ichor's energy completely drained out of her. Her mind was just not reliable, especially after what they had done. What they had forced her into. And after all that, she could not produce any tears to free her tremors.

"At least, I can help you," the queen whispered.

"You have to leave," Myra managed to whisper, her voice static and broken. She didn't feel like doing anything, escape even. No thinking, no feeling, no connections; just left here. "Please just—just leave me be."

The damage didn't stop at a single person. It ruined lives that were yet to be called into existence. She had closed herself off emotionally and mentally, the words they had said to her unable to be expunged from her mind. Myra shut her eyes, leaning her head into the wet, brick walls with a hitched breath.

"Myra, I tried to stop them."

"It's the thought that counts, your grace," She said, her voice small and dead.

"May I?"

Myra didn't refuse or answer. The queen's footsteps were slow and soft in the darkest depths of the dungeon, crouching by Myra. The queen's touch was soft, gentle and nothing like what her former miscreants had held her for their misdeeds.
