Awkward

When you crawled into bed that night, your mind wandered to all sorts of things.

We should be trying to locate Eren's basement, but instead there's a female titan. Who is after Eren. And Eren is attracted to you. And you are attracted to Levi. Levi appears to see you as more than a colleague. And then there's Armin squeezing into this mess of snogging and fondness.

You rolled on your side and decided sleep was top priority.

But then your door creaked open. You pretended you were asleep and saw Eren shut the door softly.

Your heart raced as Eren neared your bed. You knew he liked you as more than a friend, but did he possibly see what happened with you and Levi?

Was he going to kill you? Even though.... You didn't see him have a weapon when he entered . . .

The covers behind you shifted and your back was cold for a moment, but then warmer than ever when another body was pressed kindly against it.

An arm snaked its way around your side and pulled you closer. Another arm slid underneath your neck and you felt safe and warm.

Your heart calmed down and you snuggled your body as close to Eren's as possible. You could almost feel his smirk as he kissed your hair and you drifted off into a most restful slumber.

You woke up when you heard a knock on the door and a kind voice say "I'm coming in!"

Armin's voice.

You bolted upright as he entered.

He gasped as he then saw Eren's face next to yours.

"(Y-y/n)," Armin stuttered, "I-I thought you-" his hurt face melted your heart as he walked out, trying to regain his composure.

You were starting to get up as the Captain walked past the doorway, then pausing. "I could have sworn your taste in men had changed, (l/n)," you thought his face showed some sorrow, but knew better.

Levi could never love you.

Or could he never love you.

"Well this was an awkward morning," Eren said as he kissed your neck.
