Explosive Currents | The New Start

  Kaminari hit the floor with a thud. His head bounced on the pavement, stars clouding his vision. He dared not to use the overbearing power of his quirk, or he'd be done for. He was already dizzy, and wasn't sure how long until he'd be out cold.
  "Kaminari!- He's down!" He heard someone yell. It sounded like Kirishima, but he couldn't tell. He only had one phrase flashing through his mind. Die a hero. Kaminari forced himself up, trying to steady himself as he stood, his head spinning, ears ringing. Was he pale? He was probably pale. He didn't realize it until now, but his nose was bleeding. The back of his head felt warm and wet, with what he could only assume was his own blood. Die a hero. He kept repeating to himself. The world around him was spinning. Man down, he thought to himself, collapsing to his knees. He couldn't fight, he wasn't a good hero. Die a cowa-
  "DIE!" Kaminari's thoughts were cut short, as the blonde haired, angry Pomeranian had come into play. He used his explosions to his advantage, Kirishima close behind. His vision blurred, and he tried to make out what he could, he felt himself swaying. The next few moments came in bits and pieces. He saw the villain collapsing, he saw explosions, the now defeated villain in handcuffs. He felt himself fall sideways, fully collapsing onto the floor. He saw Kirishima running towards him, a paramedic hot on his heels, and.. Bakugou right behind them, before fully blacking out.

Kaminari stirred. The room was bright, the lights were bright, everything was bright, worsening his headache.
"Heeyy, Kami's awake!" Kirishima whispered. This earned a few whispers and mumbles from the group.
"Kami! Finally. Didn't want to wait too long!" Mina laughed loudly, earning a wince from Kaminari.
"Too loud." Jirou sighed, standing. "I'll be right back, heading to the store." She spoke quickly as she grabbed her bag and left.
  "How're you feeling?" Sero asked, using Kiri's shoulder as an arm rest.
  "Like death." Kami yawned, rubbing his eyes as he sat up.
  "We would've brought Bakugou, but we figured he'd be too loud." Kirishima grinned, leaning in a bit. "It was Mina's idea to not bring him." He whispered. Mina leant over and smacked his arm.
  "Rude." The living starburst herself stuck her tongue out, earning a chuckle from Kaminari.
The group ate lunch, talked about how boring it's been without Kaminari, and waited for Jirou. As she returned, then remaining three met her in the hallway, organizing the small gifts she brought with her. Sitting back down, they each have Kaminari a bag. He took out the contents of each; a bag of his favorite candy, and an oddly shaped, poorly made pikachu plushie. There were four of them.
"My little deformed army." Kaminari laughed, setting them up in a row in front of him.
   The group ate lunch, discussing how depressing it was without Kaminari around. They stayed for another hour or so, before leaving one by one. Kirishima was the last to leave, promising to catch Kaminari up on any missed UA gossip.

    Kaminari was alone for another hour or two,
mostly organizing his own, very few, belongings or just watching the birds outside the window.
  "Visitors, Kaminari." His main nurse spoke up from the door, and Kaminari turned around to see Midoriya, Todoroki, and an angry looking Bakugou. What was new.
  "I wanted to go alone, since Pinky wouldn't let me go." He huffed. "But Deku decided to follow me like a lost puppy. Then IcyHot followed." He crossed his arms, sitting down by the bed.
  "I just wanted to see Kaminari." Midoriya shrugged, sitting down as well.
"I'm making sure Bakugou doesn't kill Midoriya." Todoroki sat down in the middle of the two.
  "You left me alone with the morons." Bakugou mumbled, mostly so Kaminari could hear, which earned a snicker.
  "How are your injuries?" Todoroki asked, holding his hands in his lap, politely.
  "Stupid and painful." Kaminari shrugged, moving to lean back against the pillow.
"Do you remember what happened?" Midoriya asked. He was mostly fighting the villain, so he barely saw what led up to the aftermath with the other hero's. Kaminari shrugged again.
  "Vaguely. Bakugou was there.. that was you running with Kirishima, right? Do you.. by chance remember what happened?" Kaminari asked, rubbing the pikachu tail between his fingers, focusing on the fabric texture.
  "You were bloody." He started, yawning and stretching. "At first you were doing good, able to fight off a few of the 'minions'. But you weren't using your quirk fully. Afraid of short circuiting, I'm assuming." Bakugou didn't wait for Kaminari to respond, he knew the answer. Kaminari was afraid of short circuiting, he didn't want to become a burden suddenly, and become a vulnerable victim. "You let your guard down, and they got you. It was just kind of like.." He trailed off, moving his hands around to try and describe the situation better. "Dunno, your head got slammed into the pavement a bunch, and there was blood everywhere." He hummed. "I did run with Shitty Hair to you. Incase the paramedic needed help."
  "Wow Kacchan! I knew you were nice deep down-" Midoriya laughed.
  "Fuck off, Deku." Bakugou growled, leaning on the bed.
  "Aww.. is Kacchan upset?" Kaminari teased him, laughing. He ruffled Bakugou's hair, pulling the blankets up over himself after Bakugou swatted his hand away, he was cold. 
  "It's getting late, Midoriya." Todoroki stood, handing Kaminari a decently sized box, almost the size of a shoe box. Midoriya handed him a small bag, standing as well. Bakugou continues to sit.
  "I'm staying." He stated, relaxing in the chair. Todoroki modded, walking Midoriya out.
  "You don't have to stay if you don't want to." Kaminari whispered.
  "No need to whisper, hot shot. I do what I want. Plus I don't want to deal with those morons." He hummed again.
  "You could've left before them if you were uncomfortable, idiot." Kaminari lightly teased, insulting him back.

  "Yeah, but I didn't." Bakugou grinned.
