This is sort of a Riverdale crossover, the plot is when Cheryl fell into sweet water river, the characters aren't from Riverdale just the plot. I'm going to use Jason's name only bc i'm unoriginal :)

Jake slowly blinked his eyes open when a bright light shone through his eyelids. He internally groaned and let his eyes adjust to the light before he rolled onto his side and moved his arm to wrap around his girlfriend, only to be met with cold sheets. He furrowed his brows and perched his head onto his elbow and looked around the room. Y/N's leather jacket was still draped over their desk chair so she was either still in the apartment or finally decided to wear something other than black. Not that Jake didn't like his girlfriend in black, it was quite the opposite actually.

He sighed and pulled the blanket off of himself before swinging his legs over the side and walking to the bathroom. He had a quick shower and brushed his teeth before he went back to the bedroom and dressed in his usual clothes and headed to the kitchen. When he walked to the kitchen and was met with nothing  but silence, he realised his girlfriend had already gone to work.

Jake whistled and chucked his keys in the air as he waited for the elevator to take him up to his floor. When the doors finally opened, his eyes instantly darted to Y/N's desk and he frowned when he noticed it was empty. He stepped out of the elevator and looked over at his colleagues who were too engrossed in their paperwork to realise he had arrived. He shrugged and walked over to his desk and slumped down in his chair, picking up a toy skateboard on his desk and using his fingers to push it along his desk.

He sat at his desk until his watched beeped, signally a new hour. His eyes immediately darted towards the elevator that was eerily silent, then back to his girlfriends empty desk. He knew sometimes Y/N came in a little late and it had only been 10 minutes, yet there was a uneasy feeling bubbling in his gut and a little voice in the back of his head telling him to call her.

He tried to reason with himself that she was fine and she would come barrelling through the doors at any minute, rambling on about random scientific facts she had studied the night before but the voice in the back of his head was nagging and eventually he gave him. Jake pushed the toy skateboard back into it's spot and fumbled with his jacket pocket until he retrieved his phone. He pressed the first contact on his speed dial and put the phone up to his ear, his fingers nervously drumming against the desk as the dial tone kept ringing and ringing until it clicked over to voicemail.

The uneasy feeling in his gut doubled but he refused to believe something was wrong. He knew it was probably selfish but he had a tenancy to overthink situations and he figured this was the same as the other situations. He leaned back in his chair and looked around at his colleagues. Amy was leaning against Rosa's desk as they both red a case file, Charles was busy on a call and Gina was on her phone. Before he could even register what was happening, his feet had taken him to Gina's desk.

"What do you want, Jake?" she sighed and kept her gaze on her phone.

"have you heard from Y/N?" Jake asked.

Gina averted her gaze to him for a split second before he went back to her phone. "No, sorry. If you're worried, go to Holt"

Jake sighed and nodded before he stood up and went to walk back to his desk, only to be stopped by Gina's voice.

"wait, she just texted me" Gina said. Jake sighed a breath of relief and walked over to her desk. His heart panged in his chest at Gina's confused expression as her eyes darted left and right and Jake instantly knew something was up. He gently took the phone out of her grasp and read the message for himself.
