"What do I have to do with this? When did we meet?"

"I fixed Tsunayoshi's flat bicycle tire when you were nine... Satsuki-chan, we met when I saved your little brother from getting run over on the street."

-

"Satsuki! Yuujin!" Naoki called up the stairs. "Let's go out!"

"Okay!" The siblings called out from their respective rooms.

Satsuki put away her finished homework and went to the bathroom to freshen up. She looked into Yuujin's room on the way and saw him doing the same thing.

"Did you finish your homework?" The twelve year-old asked.

"Yup!" Yuu nodded, jumping up and following her to the bathroom.

They brushed their teeth and went downstairs. Their father was waiting for them at the dining table, looking at work documents. His gaze went up when he heard their footsteps and smiled when they came into the kitchen.

"You guys ready?" He asked, patting both of them on the head. "We're heading a little into the city today; there's something very specific I need to buy and I thought you guys would want to hang out at the arcade while I do so."

"Arcade?!" Yuu's eyes brightened. "We can?!"

Naoki chuckled at his son's enthusiasm. "Yup. Consider it a reward for being good these past few days I've been back from work."

The kids cheered and they left the house in Naoki's car. Satsu sat at the front and Yuu in the back. She was silent as they passed through town and into the city.

"You know how to take care of your brother, right Satsu?" Naoki asked his daughter as they neared their destination.

"Of course," she smiled at him. "You know I do."

He smiled back at her and slowed down to a stop in front of the arcade, handing her some cash. "You have your cellphone; use that and call me in case anything happens."

"Okay." The siblings got off the car, waving to their dad as he drove away, and walked inside, hand-in-hand.

They spent a good half hour in the arcade, playing games and winning prizes. Yuujin was bouncing in excitement at everything; they rarely go to the arcade since it's too far for them to walk to. Satsuki just watched her little brother have fun, treating herself to a game here and there.

"Satsu-nee," called Yuujin, running to her. "I'm getting hungry."

"Ahh..." she glanced down at the leftover cash. "We have enough for McDonalds; I remember seeing one nearby when we got out of the car."

She held her hand out, Yuujin grabbed it and they walked out of the arcade, bowing to the guard as they walked out. They stopped at the end of the sidewalk, waiting for the cross light to turn green. Satsuki dropped Yuu's hand for a quick second to text their dad that they were going to McDonalds.

A scream was heard and Satsu immediately looked up, seeing her little brother fall onto the pavement in front of them. Right in the busy street. Panic rose and she looked at the cars, a huge truck was heading straight for him not slowing down. Yuujin started getting up but he was too slow.

"YUUJIN!"

A flash of red hair shot past Satsuki right as she took a step forward, her hand out. The young boy grabbed Yuu's hand and pulled him back to the sidewalk. Yuu fell on top of the man, both panting. The truck let out a loud beep as it passed by and Satsuki glared at it before rushing to them, falling onto her knees.

"Yuu! Yuujin! Are you okay?!" She grabbed him, searching for injuries.

Yuujin's eyes had tears in them. "Onee-chan..."

He started bawling and Satsuki took him into her arms, soothing him. She looked at the boy who was now getting up. He had red, messy hair, and green eyes.

"Ow, ow, ow... my stomach..." he said, wincing and putting a hand over his stomach.

"Are you okay as well?" Satsuki asked.

He looked up and gave her a small smile. "Yeah, my stomach usually hurts when I get anxious..."

"Thank you so much for saving my little brother," she bowed her head.

"Ah! It's okay! My body went and moved on it's own!" The boy said, waving his hands around. He stood up, dusting his pants off. Yuujin was sniffling now and the young man reached forward, patting his head. "You okay, kozo?"

Yuujin nodded burying his face into Satsuki's shoulder, mumbling a thank you.

The boy smiled and picked his dropped bag up. "You're welcome; you two be careful now. Ow... not again..."

"Wait...!" Satsuki called. But it was too late, he was too far away to hear her. "What's your name..."

After Yuujin calmed down and a few adults asking them if they were okay, they walked across the street to McDonalds. This time, Satsu held onto Yuu's hand tightly. As they were waiting in line, Satsu called their dad.

"Dad?" She said right as the line clicked. "When are you coming to pick us up?"

"I just finished what I needed to do," he answered. She could hear him getting into his car. "Why? Did something happen?"

She tightened her grip on Yuujin's hand. "I'll tell you about it when you get here; Yuu and I decided to get something to eat at the nearest McDonald's."

"Okay, just wait for me; I'll be there in ten minutes."

The siblings got their food and sat at one of the tables, silently eating their burgers and fries. Every few minutes, Satsuki would look at her little brother to make sure he was fine. He gave her a smile and nodded.

Fifteen minutes later, Naoki came through the doors and straight to his kids.

"Yuu almost got hit by a car," Satsuki explained. Naoki's eyes went wide. "Luckily someone saved him."

Yuu looked like he was about to cry again but kept a tough face. Naoki immediately kneeled down and put his hands on Yuu's face.

"You're okay, Yuujin," he reassured. "You're okay."

Yuu nodded and hugged his father tightly. Satsuki looked at the moment, smiling softly. Naoki held out an arm for her and she got out of her chair, wrapping her arms around her father's neck, sighing in relief that they were all safe.
