Adalina
My alarm went off at 5:00 in the morning.
After I dragged myself out of bed I walked to the bathroom with a loose t-shirt and a pair of comfortable shorts since the plane ride is 4 hours long. I took a quick shower and put my clothes on then blow-dried my hair.
I grabbed my suitcase and 2 carry-ons from my bedroom, carried them down to the main floor, then set them down next to the front door waiting for Ajax so we could leave.
My mom and dad called me to the kitchen.
"Yes?" I asked, I was still mad that they would send me off but am grateful that they woke up to see me off before I left.
"Have a seat I made you breakfast." my mom said.
"I helped a bit." my dad muttered.
Me and my mom looked at each other then burst out laughing, last time my dad made a grilled cheese sandwich he put the bread directly on the stove and ended up forgetting about it, the smell of burned bread lingered in our house for days. That pretty much sums up how good of a cook he is.
I took a seat in front of a plate filled with eggs, bacon, and toast and let out a yawn.
My mom sat across from me, my dad next to her, "We wanted to talk to you about the trip. There are some rules we trust that you will follow there. First, I don't want either of you to throw any parties at the beach house. Second, if I find any scars left on Ajax after the two of you come back home there will be major consequences. And lastly, please try to be at least a little bit positive about this since you're going on a trip and I want you to have fun."
I started to feel a bit defensive at the second rule, "Okay we already talked about this, the scar on his arm wasn't entirely my fault, he should've known not to sneak up on someone cutting vegetables. He's lucky he came out alive, okay? Plus, he's not the only one with scars left from the other." I said.
"Yeah that's why you're both being told the same rules." she said.
That's when the doorbell rang I looked at the clock, 5:48.
I shoved all of the bacon left into my mouth and made my way to open the door. Ajax stood at the door, "Ready to go?" he asked me, voice sounding tired and bored.
I just nodded my head not looking forward to the plane ride there, it's a 4 hour flight from San Diego to Orlando.
"Then hurry up and grab your things." he said, letting out a large yawn.
"You could help, you ass." I said, my mouth still filled with bacon.
He rolled his eyes, "What a lady." he muttered.
"Oh, blow me." I said, rolling my eyes.
I grabbed the luggage and he surprisingly helped. We were about to head out when my parents came out of the kitchen.
"Hey Ajax, how are you doing?" My dad asked him.
"I'm doing fine still tired, how about you?" Ajax replied with a small, polite smile.
I narrowed my eyes at him, why isn't he this nice to me?
"I'm doing good, have fun together you two." my dad said sounding overly excited.
"Bye guys, I'll call when we land." I said giving them both hugs then we were out the door.
We waited an hour until our plane finally arrived.
I grabbed the luggage I had left with me, Ajax doing the same then we headed over to the desk. The woman there scanned both of our tickets then we made our way down the tunnel and to the airplane.
Ajax and my seat were beside each other, so I had to deal with him for four hours, wonderful.
I listened to the flight attendant as she explained the safety rules. Once she finished I grabbed my phone and scrolled through my songs until I found one I liked.
Apparently by J Cole started playing quietly in my ear as I fell asleep.
I woke up feeling a weight on my shoulder.
Lifting my head up the slightest bit to see Ajax's sleeping face resting on my shoulder right beside my face.
I scrunched up my nose and tried to push his head away but he wouldn't budge.
I turned and grabbed my phone from my side, now noticing his hand wrapped around my waist almost in a possessive manner.
I groaned, this guy sure was touchy.
Reaching for my phone I typed in my passcode then clicked the camera app.
I turned towards Ajax and snapped a picture of his sleeping face, I cringed as the shutter went off. Whatever, blackmail is blackmail..even though he looks kind of c-
I cut off my thoughts and just scrolled through my phone trying to find something to pass the time.
A pretty flight attendant approached us, " Hello, sweetie could you please wake your brother up? We'll be landing soon." She said with a sickly sweet smile plastered on her face that was too wide to be real, her gaze flickered to Ajax's sleeping face every second or two.
"Sure I'll wake my boyfriend up." I said sweet as sugar, trying to hide a laugh when her facial expression changed from happy to annoyed in a split second.
"Great, thanks." she said in a snippy voice.
Pfft, I love pissing people off, it comes so naturally.
I shook Ajax's shoulder, ruffer than needed, to wake him up.
"What the fuck?" he grumbled in a raspy morning voice.
"We're almost here get the hell up and off me." I said back prying his loosened arm from me and shoving his head away.
I turned and looked out of the window, "Wow." I whispered in awe looking at the view from our window.
My eyes flickered over to Ajax who leaned in, looking over my shoulder, a small smile falling over his lips as the sun illuminated his olive skin and made his eyes shine a golden brown colour.
"Gorgeous." he said.
I hummed in agreement.
