Michael's Pov

Once Rainy had finished taking her bath she asked me if I could help her pick out her dress for tonight. It was just a small dinner so I pulled out a sundress and held it up so she could see.

"I like that one instead daddy." she said pointing to another dress that laid on her floor. I picked it up and handed it to her before folding back up the sundress.

"Rainy, princess please pick up your clothes before you get dressed." I said gesturing to the clothes that laid across the floor. She frowned before leaning down to pick them up.

"Sorry daddy."

"It's alright Babygirl just remember next time." I said kissing her cheek. Her lips curved into a smile causing me to do the same.

I left the room so she could get dressed and since I had taken my shower already I pulled on my red sweater and black pants. I was still anxious about Rainy meeting the family but I'm sure she'll just well.

My major concern was probally Joseph because I knew that he definitley would not approve of Rainy. But I didn't care because she was my daughter and I loved her so much.

"Daddy I'm ready!" Rainy called from her bedroom. I walked in and smiled as I picked her up in my arms.

"You look beautiful babygirl." I kissed her cheek and she giggled before giving me one too.

"You look nice to daddy." I looked down at my outfit and smiled.

"thanks princess." I carried her out of the room and downstairs to see dinner already made.

"Thanks Pam, you can have the rest of the night off." I said causing her to drop the rag and smile.

"thanks michael. Good luck. Bye rainy." Pam gave Rainy a kiss on the forehead and walked out of the house.

I set Rainy down in a chair and was about to speak until the doorbell interrupted me.

"That must be them." i mumbled to myself. I got up and opened the door to see my whole family standing there. My mother was the first one to give me a hug.

"Hi mother." I greeted giving her a kiss on the cheek. I gave the rest of my brother's and sisters a hug until it came to Joseph. He stared at me for a while before following the rest into the house. I didn't let it bother me because knowing Joseph, he would have a lot to say in the next couple of minutes.

"So,where is she?" Mother asked with an eager smile. I took a deep breath and called Rainy. She came running towards me and smiled once I picked her up again.

"Here she is." I announced watching them all stare at her with smiles.

"Oh michael she's so adorable." Janet cooed along with Latoya. Rainy laid her head in the crook of my neck and I looked down and gave her a kiss on the forehead. She seemed confused and lost with everybody staring at her.

"Baby girl those are your aunties and uncles and that's your grandma." I told her before looking over at Joseph to see his attention on something else. "and your grandpa." I added not wanting to leave Joseph out even though he was being rude.

"Hi grandma." Mother's smile widened and she came closer.

"Hi sweetie. Cmon we shouldn't all just stand here." Mother grabbed Rainy out of my arms and I was surprised that she was even able to pick up a six year old.

We all followed mother into the dinning room and I took a seat next to Rainy who had her eyes on Joseph. "Michael I need to talk to you." My eyes snapped to Joseph and I got up out of my chair going into the other room. He soon came after and stood their for a while not saying anything.

"So that's it Huh?" I shrugged my shoulders and looked at him with confusion.

"What's it?" I asked

"Her, this. Your a dad now." I didn't know where he was going with this but I had a pretty good idea.

"Yes Joseph I am. And I'm going to be a better one than you ever were-"

Slap.

My face burned from the sharp contact he made with his hand and I suddenly felt like I was a teenager again. Joseph couldn't just come into my house and treat me like this.

"Joseph. Get out." I yelled ignoring the stinging in my cheek. Joseph looked at me with a hard glare before turning around but not before pointing in my face.

"That little girl is going to ruin your career." he warned before walking past the family in the kitchen and storming out of the house. I calmed my anger down before walking into the living room to see Rainy running up to me.

"Daddy."

"Yeah baby?" Rainy laid her head in the comfort of my neck.

"Grandpa scares me." I chuckled softly while rubbing her back in small circles.

"He frightens me a bit too." i admitted truthfully before setting her back in her seat and finishing off the meal with my family without Joseph's interruptions.
