Shion looked up at Nezumi slowly, carefully eyeing him. He gulped, wanting to say something his tongue wouldn't form words. Taking one last breath, Shion mustered up a sentence.

"Nezumi would you like to take a walk?"

Shion looked away embarressed. Perhaps Nezumi was going to work at the Inukashi's... He thought to himself, regretting asking.

"I mean if you don't want to that's fine too! I mean you're certainly not obligated to walk with me. I just thought-"

"Shion," Nezumi cut him off. "I would love to take a walk."

Shion's face lit up like a Christmas tree. They both donned their coats, and set off. The cool December air chilled the pair as they walked. Their footsteps echoed along the the buildings of the abandoned market. It was late, and the moon set a milky white light across the town.

Another cool zephyr chilled Shion. His body let out a shudder. He pulled his coat tighter to his chest, and he snuggled into the collar of the jacket. Upon noticing this, Nezumi clicked his tongue. He shrugged his own jacket off, and placed it on Shion's small shoulders. Shion's big maroon eyes looked at Nezumi confused.

"Well you're cold right?" Nezumi mumbled under his breath.

Shion smiled in return. "Thank you, Nezumi."

"Yeah whatever."

They continued to walk along at a slow pace. Shion blew on his hands, wishing he had brought gloves along. Nezumi noticed this, and wrapped his fingers around Shion's hands. He clenched them, and warmth spread to Shion's fingers.

"Nezumi what are you-" Shion began before being cut off.

"Just shut up and walk."

And so they did.
