Chapter 10

Poppy's P.O.V:

"All I'm saying is that she's been through a lot"
I heard the last words of Olivia's sentence before slowly opening my eyes, taking in my surroundings. Luke. It was Luke Hemmings. Why was I in the same room as Luke? He was staring down at me rubbing my arm slowly with sadness in his eyes. Then I saw Calum, his hair was messy from his performance. He was looking up at Olivia, his eyebrows furrowed. Then Michael, he was trying to comfort Olivia, tapping her awkwardly on the shoulder. Then Ashton, stroking Olivia's tear stained face. Then I remembered...

I then realised my chest rapidly moving up and down. I remembered the crowd, how I couldn't breath. The screaming, the shouting, the pushing, then the blackness.

I had sat up quickly, my eyes scanning the room. Before I could say and do anything Olivia spun me around and hugged me tightly. I felt safe in her arms. I felt like nothing bad could happen. Then I pulled away and that feeling was gone. I could feel warm tears streaming down my face.

"What happened?" I whimpered.

"You fainted. It's all fine baby, just breath. We are backstage in the stadium. Don't worry. We are in safe hands I think. You have me. It's going to be fine okay? She gently brushed the tears from my eyes.

"I don't think I can do this anymore Liv. It's too hard. Why me? Why has this all happened to me?"

I sobbed hard. I couldn't stop crying. I was breaking. 5 seconds of summer were watching me fall apart peice by piece. A felt a hand touch my shoulder.

"Are you okay? I need to know" It was Luke, he was really concerned. I was just another girl why me?

"I'm... fine" I managed to say but he didn't look convinced.

I turned back to Olivia who was now talking to a muscly man. She was nodding her head. She looked over at me a worried expression written on her face.

"B, don't freak out, I'll be with you the whole way but we are going to have to stay in a hotel tonight. John said that it will be paid for us and it will be for the best. I can't drive your car and you can't drive in this state. I'm sorry but it's our only option." Her finger was pointing over to the man she was talking to.

"I'm... it's fine, as long as you're there. I'm sorry for ruining you're night" I said my voice barely a whisper. I sighed.

"Don't be sorry, I'm in the same room as Ashton Irwin, Poppy, it's all fine" She winked at me with a smile playing on my lips.

A weak smile spread onto my face. I dried most of my tears feeling a bit better. Olivia hugged me again tightly until a cough was heard making us pull away. Four faces were staring at us, small smiles on their faces.

"Uh hey, we heard that you will be coming to the hotel with us. I'm Luke, and this is Michael, Ashton and Calum. Just to let you know, we are here if you need anything. We could hang out if you want to? um, so yeah" It was Luke that was speaking. He seemed nervous. He was looking at me which made me blush. He chewed his lip.
The others waved smiling.

Before I could stop myself I said, "Thank you Luke, it was just another one of my problems. I'm fine, it's all fine. We should hang out. The show was amazing by the way. I'm glad I came"

Most of this was a lie. I wasn't fine. It wasn't all fine. There was nothing fine about it. But I think hanging out with him would be fun even if I'm awkward. I didn't realise the words coming out untill I finished talking.

Olivia looked at my surprised.

Luke smiled.

"Would you like to ride in the car with us? We have food." It was Michael, of course. He was like a playful puppy. I admired his confidence.

"Sure, Is that okay Pop?" Olivia said.

"That's fine" I smiled. These four boys were lovely.

After a backward exit to the SUV's, I was now sitting comfortably in a delicate leather seat. I was sat next to Olivia who held my hand and the other side was Luke, whilst the other boys were facing us on the other side. Ashton was shyly looking over at Olivia.

"Oi, Alan, put some music on", Calum shouted to the front of the car whilst slouching into his seat. He looked over at me and did a friendly smile. He was cute.

"Sorry I didn't catch you're name" He said. He was quite friendly but he wasn't comforting me as much as the others. I didn't really mind. He was probably awkward like me.

"Poppy" I replied.

"Poppy, would you like to choose a song?" He questioned.

"Umm, sure, what about 'Down' by Blink 182. I've been obsessed with it. You don't have to though, you can..."

I was cut of by Calum and Ashton.

"I love that song it's amazing, Blink 182 are the best"
"I love them, I can't believe you like them too, of course we are going to put it on"

I laughed. A proper laugh. I hadn't laughed in ages.

"Good choice" Luke whispered in my ear, sending shivers down my spine. He was just a bit too close. I hadn't been this close to a boy since.. well since... Harry. I really needed to go back to normal but I couldn't. Even the thought of a boy touching my thigh made me want to throw up.

I smiled politely squeezing Olivia's hand.

"TIDAL WAVES THEY RIP RIGHT THROUGH ME,
TEARS FROM EYES WORN, COLD AND SAD,
PICK ME UP NOW, I NEED YOU SO BAD"
The rest of the journey consisted of all of us belting out the lyrics to Blink, Greenday, All Time Low.
I was singing along. I actually felt welcome. I actually felt like I was someone. I knew these boys were special but I didn't know why.

"I sang with Ashton, Poppy, fucking Ashton Iriwn from the fucking band 5 seconds of summer. Is this a dream?"

Olivia was now jumping round the room. As we weren't planning on going to a hotel we were both still in our concert clothes and I was starting to get uncomfortable in jeans.

The boys had asked us if we wanted to come to their room and watch a film. It was weird that I've met, touched, sang with 5 seconds of summer and now I was going to watch a film with them. It was crazy but they were probably trying to be friendly because they felt sorry for me. I was still looking forward to it.

Luke's P.O.V:

Poppy. As soon as I saw her. I couldn't get those bright green eyes out of my head. She was so friendly and kind. She was beautiful. I was concerned when she started panicking. Something had happened to her. Something that would always be there, eating away at her. She had gone through so much pain. I was determined to find out what it was.
