Poppy's P.O.V:

I arrived home, my face numb with pain. My parents weren't home, as usual. They never were. But still they thought that their relationship with their daughter was strong. Bullshit. I had managed a 30 minute walk/run home having missed the bus. The pain from my face was unbearable and the blood had dried making me feel sick to the stomach. After Stacey had hurt me, I had only one thing on my mind.

I immediately dropped my bag and ran upstairs to my bedroom, stumbling over my feet now and again. I took the small sharp metal from a trinket box I got when I was little. Quickly walking to the bathroom, I took a few seconds to look at myself in the mirror. My light brown, hair had become a mess. My mascara had been smeared down my cheeks from crying and a patch of dried blood was on my hairline. I ignored my reflection, hating myself even more. I took the blade to my already scarred wrist, digging it deeply then cut, cut, cut. Silent tears ran down my face. Blood had dotted up in a perfect crimson line. The pain was terrible but this was my way to escape. I slowly went numb. I sighed out in relief, no more pain, no more hurt, just for a few seconds. I continued this for what seemed about 8 times and stopped. That's was enough for today. I reluctantly placed the blade down. Gently, I run my wrists under cold water, wincing at the pain of the cold cleaning out the blood. I then dried my arms off, making sure that it still wasn't bleeding.

Cleaning the blade, I suddenly remembered Olivia. Shit, how could I forget? It was 5:00pm. I had a hour. I took the blade back to my room and carefully placed it back into the trinket box. I dried my tears and grabbed my toiletries for a shower.

Feeling refreshed, I quickly got changed into my leggings and oversized long sleeve shirt before drying my hair, not bothering to do anything with it. Finishing my hair, the doorbell rang, making me frantically run around trying to make my room presentable.

Opening the door to Olivia, a grin slowly spread onto my face. She stood there with a bag of food, a bag of drinks and a bag of films. She was wearing a bandana, which made me laugh. This was why I loved her. "How are you my little monkey?" I chuckled.

"I'm very well indeed my chameleon" she grinned.

Heading up the stairs, my phone buzzed:

Mum: Hello honey, me and you're dad will be staying at the office late tonight so we've decided to go to a hotel for the weekend because it's closer to the office, hope your okay, love you x

I sighed. Just great... I text back:

Poppy: That's fine Mum, don't worry, love you too x

I placed my phone back in my pocket and caught up with Olivia who was setting out the things for the night, her bandana falling off her head. I smiled, glad that I had a best friend like her.

A/N: so this is a really short chapter! Sorry!!!🙈 I've been so busy! I have no idea who's actually reading this book but I hope someone is!
