I awoke to the scent of food filling the house. It wasn't just one specific scent, but many. I smiled, realizing what today was, Thanksgiving.
I pulled myself out of bed and shuffled downstairs. There, I found Aaron in the kitchen preparing food to bring to Aph's house.
"You're up early preparing for this." I say, observing him and his cooking.
"Better get it done right now, just in case I make a mistake." He looks at the clock on the wall and sighs. "Besides, we have two hours before we go."
"Wait, what time is it?"
"10-ish."
"Oh geez, I guess I was tired."
"Yep." He rubs my back and smiles, reaching over to grab a container.
I rub my neck a little, somehow nervous. "W-What did you make anyway?"
"Just some oatmeal cookies."
"Sounds good..." I smile, shuffling to the living room, when he grabs my wrist.
"A-Actually, I kinda have a kinda useless question for you..."
"Hmm?"
"Could you... stand and talk with me when we go there... I don't feel very comfortable around people I barely know."
"A-Alright..." I blush a little embarrassed from the sudden contact.
"Thanks..." He pulls me onto the couch and rests my head on his lap.
"Why did you do that?"
"Because its fun, and I know it's pretty comfortable."
"Yeah, I guess it is." I readjust myself and sigh. "I really should start getting ready for the party..."
"Oh... right." He laughs nervously and smiles a little.
I lay there for a few minutes before getting up and quickly going to the bedroom to get ready. I shuffled around to find something to wear before settling on a sweater and jeans.
