Chapter 9

[ Third POV ]

"Why is he in my mom's house?!" Nishikata sees Kobayashi again. The guy who tried to scam him his 7000 for new gym shoes.

"Y-You! What are you doing here?!" Nishikata balls a fist, barging in the door.

"Oh Munchkin, you're home! Hi!" His mother greets him. Kobayashi walks away to sit somewhere else.

"D-Don't make me ask again! Wh-Why are you here?!"

"This kind man came here to return the money you dropped earlier. You were too fast and almost lost 7000 yen. " His mother explains.

"Th-This money... you told my mom you found out?"

"That's right. You ram into Mr. Kobayashi on your bike today, didn't you?" Nishikata's mother recall.

Kobayashi sips a cup of tea, "You should thank me for returning your money, Nishikata, my pal."

"Th-That's just common decency!" Nishikata shouts at him.

"Munchkin, why are you acting so aggressive?" His mother discipline Nishikata.

Kobayashi drinks up his tea, "Ma'am, it's difficult for me to say this, but when I ran into your son, I seem to have dropped my own wallet in the process. It looks exactly like Nishikata's wallet. To put it mildly, somehow we swapped wallets."

Nishikata's mother was taken back a little bit and stutters, "Y-Yes, though that seems so unlike Nishikata. But I suppose it's possible."

Kobayashi smiles, "In that case, would you please ask your son to return my wallet to me?"

"What?"

"I had about 500,000 Yen in my wallet."

"FIVE HUNDRED THOUSANNNNND!!" Both Nishikata and his mother shout together.

"I know you're doing this for more money!" Nishikata points.

Nishikata's mother looks at him, "M-Munchkin..."

"Don't panic! He's a con artist-"

"Oh yeah, I can also prove that our wallets were switched around. Last night, I got a hamburger combo at Jonny's. I also had an order of onion gratin soup. I believe the receipt has shown to be 1,833 Yen. It should be in the wallet your Munchkin, Nishikata has."

Nishikata quickly grabs the wallet in his pocket. He opens it and slowly pulls the receipt.

Jonny's

Total............. ¥1,833

"Nishikata!" His mother calls his real name. Nishikata knew her calling his real name meant she was super serious. But she was also shown to be sweating a lot.

"N-No! Mom, you have to believe me! He's trying to trick you! Then you went out and bought a similar looking wallet!"

Kobayashi chuckles, "Hehe. I hate to break it to you, but your son seems to be going through a pretty despicable phase of his life! Don't you feel guilty as his mother for raising a son like that?"

"Stop!" Nishikata tries you punch Kobayashi but was tripped.

Another lock appears, bursting out of Nishikata's mom's chest.

"Mom!" He gets back up.

"Gehehe! I finally did it! Now the weight of her guilt will keep her heart locked up. I'm gonna take you for everything you've got! I'll start by taking your house's land, title and seal! What a nice house though!
