Chapter 24

[ Third POV ]

Jotaro sits on the bench that faces towards the beach. Another Speedwagon worker comes and sits behind him, on the bench facing the other way.

"We did some investigations inside Kira's house. It turns out there is another bow and arrow. 3 of our men were injured from Kira's father. Kira's father was found to be deceased but is somehow turned into a vengeful spirit, destined and obsessed with protecting his son, Kira Yoshikage. Right now he has the bow and arrow, he swore to make new Stand users to kill us all each individually. This is my message from the report we got.

Jotaro stares at the ocean, "Kira Yoshikage, where are you? When will you reveal your tactics. I know you are still fighting the urge to kill right now, and as soon as you make one fatal mistake, I'll come and punch you in the face..."

Nishikata was walking home alone, finished with school. "Damn you, Kira Yoshikage! I swear I'll find you! For Shigechi." The sky begun to rain, like it was mourning at the loss of Shigechi, an innocent kid whose life was taken away.

"Nishikata?" A feminine voice calls for him.

He turns around and sees the one person he didn't want to talk to right now, Takagi.

"Yes, Takagi." He didn't add the 'San' part. Takagi's heart shattered a bit, like a rock thrown against a window and it only cracked, but not all the way.

"A-Are you okay?" She asks, politely.

"I'm doing fine, goodbye."

"Wait!" She stops Nishikata. He sighs and turns around, only to be surprised by a hug.

"Wh-What's all this about, Takagi?" He didn't say it again. Takagi slowly cries on Nishikata shoulders. You could hear the sounds of her sniffing her nose and whimpers.

"I....I'm so glad you're alive...."

"What are you talking about?" He was curious.

"I... I didn't want to say this but... I was at Centipede Shoes!" Nishikata finally realizes what Takagi was crying about.

"I see. Did you see me? All beat up? Powerless?" He asks, shedding a tear.

"Yes. You were bleeding, a lot of blood from your injuries. That man was the one who did it. I thought I was dreaming, but then I realize that this was all real. I saw you die right in front of me. I... I never though anyone you love could disappear just like that. I don't know how you're alive, but I'm glad.." Nishikata lets Takagi cry on his chest.

"Don't worry about it. I'm alright, for now at least. Right now, I am living a very dangerous life." Nishikata stares at Takagi's cute face.

"Wh-What do you mean?" She asks, slowly stop crying.

Nishikata stands up and smiles at her, "Right now, I'm doing the best I can to save my town. I didn't tell you this until now but I am investigating crimes! That's why I never told you anything about this. You would want to help me and you are not the person who is willingly courageous enough to do it. What I'm saying is that you're too innocent to know the true reality of our world. So that's why... that's why I'm protecting you, my mother and my friends. Please, just try not to contact me for now. If I stop showing up, it means I'm actually dead and no one is here to help me...." Nishikata walks away, leaving Takagi dumbfounded.

Takagi stood up and looked up at the sky as it stopped raining. "Thank you, Nishikata. For giving me a new light, I know why you were harsh at me for a while. But now, the reasoning is enough for me to accept that." She heads home.
