"Go, go, go," Luke whispered.

Everybody squeezed through the entrance to the alley between Evan and Mr. Wilson's house. The full moon shone brightly down on the kids, giving just enough light for the boys to see.

Anthony, armed with his toolbelt, went first. He walked to the loose board in the fence and pulled out a hammer. Anthony gave the board a little tug to get it looser before pulling out three of the nails. Then, he pulled the board to the side.

"Is that wide enough?" He asked quietly.

"Who's the fattest?" Joe asked.

"The bag," Jaren said, holding up a huge duffle bag.

"What is in that shit?" John whispered.

"Extra stuff for everybody else's bags, dumbass," Jaren snapped, trying not to speak too loud. "Now, come on. Let's see if that bag will go through."

Jaren, Joe, and Marcel all pushed the bag through the hole in the fence together. Everybody nodded and started squeezing through as well.

"Brian, I can see your underwear," Tyler said, covering his eyes. "Why'd you wear a skirt for this?"

"It makes me aerodynamic," Brian whispered sarcastically. "I just wanted to, okay? My legs are free in t'is, anyway."

"So it does make you aerodynamic," Scotty whispered.

"Shut up and help me open this window," Luke said to the group. "Also, call each other by your code names from now on."

The rest of the group nodded as Jon walked over to his brother and hopped on Luke's shoulders. He pulled a knife out of a small bag he'd tied to one of his belt loops.

"That's a kitchen knife," Ryan said quietly.

"I know," Jon whispered back. "If I see that motherfucker I'm stabbing him."

"No," Luke whispered.

"Yes," Jon replied, sending a small glare to the window as he pried it open. "Now, get me through this window."

Jon put the knife away and pulled himself through the window. Then, he grabbed Joe's hands as the youngest was lifted up to the window. They pulled everybody into the room, save Luke and Ryan.

"Boost me," Ryan whispered.

Luke boosted Ryan into the window and then looked around the backyard once more. Then, he hopped up and grabbed the ledge of the window. He cringed at the sound of his body hitting the side of the house (and the feeling of it but he wouldn't say anything).

"Shush!" Ryan whispered.

Luke hoisted himself up into the window and crashed onto the floor below him. The boys all shushed him. Luke replied with a "really?" face and stood up.

"Alright, split up and start looking for the door to the basement," Brock whispered.

"That's some dumbass white-people-in-a-horror-movie logic," Marcel said quietly. "If we're splitting up, we're taking people with us."

The boys all split into groups and took turns leaving the small laundry room they'd dropped into.

They were finally going into the belly of the beast. After nearly a month and a half of Evan being missing, somebody was finally rescuing him.

The boys were scared as hell, but they were determined. They didn't know much of what would happen inside the house, but they did know that they needed to rescue their friend before it was too late.

But they also needed to stay safe, for the sake of their friend.

If they weren't careful, Evan wouldn't survive. And neither would they.
