May:

The year was about to end and finals were near. My hero and I studied together every day and night. We had some courses in common. We chose them accordingly. We were both very smart and we helped each other study for the exams.

Despite all the hard work and stress, everyone did great, and the tests were easier than we thought they would be. I aced my exams; so did he. We also had to prepare for our graduation ceremony. People talked about it for weeks and no one could believe the hard work we put into it...

I graduated with a double major degree in English Literature and Media Studies.

My hero graduated with an Engineering degree. He was now going to work at his father's company. He had already set up an office for him. He was about three years older than me and it was so cool that we graduated at the same time.

School was over, and now we could live the life we've always dreamed of. We went clubbing, pubbing, and did so many things together. Those days were the happiest days of my life. As he started work at his father's company I applied to some media outlets hoping I get into one of them.

A couple of weeks later, he came to me and asked me to go with him to his parents' house. He was going to officially introduce me to them.

I was nervous. I didn't know he was that serious. I knew our relationship was serious. I just felt things were happening too fast.

I was scared of what would they think of me. Will they like me? Will they not? What if they didn't like me!! What if I didn't seem to be what they expect! Many questions were going inside my head and I had no answer to any.

When entered the house to see everyone gathering in the living room chatting and laughing. The scene was so beautiful. They looked so pretty sitting all together. I felt like home. I met Mrs. Anne, his mother, Mr. Robin Dawson, his father, his older sister Rose, and his little brother Jimmy.

I also met his cousin Kelly who welcomed me not so happily I suppose. I could sense some kind of tension in her attitude. I tried as hard as possible not to feel like the gathering was an interview where I have to keep talking about myself.

I was nervous but they made me feel like I am one of them. Little Jimmy even said, "I wish you could stay with us forever" when I said a joke that everyone laughed at.

I can't deny I was shocked to hear that. I didn't know they liked me that fast. It's just that I was not so sure that they would like me. You know.... It happens.

I had pictures of my family with me all the time so I showed them some of the pictures that I have and that's how they got to know my family.

We sat and talk for a few hours and then we had dinner. I had brought some dessert with me and I had them taste it. They didn't believe that I made it myself.

His mom said: "This is too good for a girl like you to make it."

"Well actually my mom taught me everything I know and I always try to make things her way. She's my inspiration."

"You do know how to make people like you," his aunt said.

"She sure does...." Kelly replied mockingly as she drank her coffee.

As they talked I blushed. "Umm.... Well am glad you guys like it"

"We did," said his mom.

"Excuse me I have to go to the bathroom."

I still couldn't know why Kelly was acting in a weird way. I couldn't understand why she would be mad at me. I was upset and I couldn't hide it anymore. I used the bathroom as an excuse to calm down.
