Camping was our thing. Few weeks after New Year, we planned a camping trip to the mountains with the whole family. It was a chance for me and Kelly to bond or at least to fix things. He proposed the idea and I agreed. The best day to go camping was a Sunday. It was also my birthday.

Sunday morning, January 21st, everyone packed his stuff and he came to pick me up so we meet everyone at the market. We bought some goods took some food utensils with us, and we headed to the mountains.
The ride was long but we had a lot of fun along the way. We would stop the car every once in a while to take pictures. We were two cars. Mrs. Anne, Mr. Dawson, mom, and I drove with him. Jimmy and his four cousins drove with Mia. This was better for both me and Kelly.
In about two hours, we reached our destination. It took us another half hour to set things up for lunch. There was always some tension between me and Kelly. I just wanted to enjoy the day. I tried to ignore it as much as I could. Lunch was served and eaten and it was time for a bun fire. The folks went to sleep and Truth or Dare was in turn. It was really fun. The questions were sometimes funny and sometimes embarrassing.
We twirled and twirled the bottle and when it was my hero's turn he was asked to dare but he chose Truth. It was Mya's turn to ask so she asked him:
"What does she mean to you?!" she asked as she was looking at me.
"Simply... she's my Little Star", he said smiling.
My cheeks were tomato red right away. My heart beats raced and I felt like I was fainting. The next round it was Jimmy asking me to choose between a truth and a dare. He didn't even let them ask me to choose.
"Dare her Jimmy", he said.
I just smiled back at him and agreed.
"Oh yes... Okay. I want you to give my big brother a big, big kiss" said Jimmy.
"Oh Jimmy", I said with a shy smile. "I don't think that's necessary. Would you ask me to do something else please?"
"But I want you to kiss my brother."
"Oh you little boy... You really are older than your age... but you know what I'll do it" I said cuddling his cheek.
I turned my face towards him and leaned forward for a kiss on his cheek. He was planning for something else. As I did that he turned his face and instead of kissing his cheeks I was kissing his lips. Awkward it was, funny it was, but lovely it was.
"There you go... happy now Jimmy?" I asked.
Silence ruled for a few seconds. There was nothing but whispers and smiles. There was a man standing in the distance signaling to someone from the group but I couldn't know who. My hero stood up immediately taking me with the arm he said:
"You guys have fun with the rest of the night. We have to go."
He said we should go somewhere private because he had something important to tell me.
We walked as we chatted and laughed. We kept walking till we reached the top of the mountain. Few steps away from the top he covered my eyes with hands.
When I opened my eyes, I was surrounded by the most beautiful scene. All I could see around me was red; nothing but red. Red is my favorite color and everyone knew that.
Some red lights on the ground marking our path added beauty to the scene. The path led us to a table covered with a red table cover and a candle right in the middle. Red roses surrounded the table spread around the grass and a small radio could be seen in the corner.
