Recap in Author's Note

I walked up to the front door and opened it quietly. It was pretty late and I didn't want anyone waking up. Most importantly I really didn't want Jake waking up. I was not his favorite person right now and honestly he wasn't mine at the moment. I slipped off my shoes quietly by the front door. After shutting the front door as quietly as I could I went pass the living room and tried to sneak to my room. As I entered the hallway that would lead me to my salvation the living room light flicked on. I instantly froze. Damn it!

"Out late huh," A voice asked. I turned around slowly to see Jake sitting on the love seat staring at me. He had his feet flat on the ground and his hands crossed in his lap. Although he had somewhat of a calm demeanor I could see his eye ablaze. I smiled at him sheepishly. I started to slowly walk towards Jake. He had leaned forward in his seat. I finally reached him. I stopped right in front of him and gave him a warm smile.

"Hey babe," I said scratching the back of my neck. "What are you doing up?" He looked up at me and shot me a heated glare. My defenses instantly came up and I took a step back as I saw his come up too. He balled his fist up like he couldn't believe what I had just said to him.

"Um I don't know maybe waiting for my god damn girl friend to come back," He growled. I was taken back by the tone of his voice, but I couldn't lie I knew it was coming.

"Well sorry jeez I lost track of time," I said. I rolled my eyes at him. "Don't need to get all stern with me."

"Well someone needs to tell you how stupid you're being," He said. Stupid. I narrowed my eyes at him. Did he really just say that? "I' mean how naive can you be?"

"Naive," I stated. "What the hell is up with you?"

"He's just using you Jenna," He said. "He just wants all your attention and then before you know it he'll be gone again. He doesn't care about anyone but himself."

"That's a lie," I said shaking my head. He cares about me. It wasn't his choice to leave he needed to. "Greg does care about me."

"Oh really," Jake said giving a humorless laugh. "Did he care when he left you? Did he care when he never contacted you?"

"He wanted to he just couldn't," I said. "He missed me. Us. That's why he came back."

"Just keep telling yourself that," He said raising his voice. What was he trying to do? Get the whole house involved in the damn conversation? "He came back because he was tired of all those girls who didn't give a crap for him and wanted someone who would spoil him."

"What the hell is that suppose to mean," I asked now my voice getting louder.

"He just wanted someone who would drop her life and everything around her for him," He said and then made a ringing sound. "And you just so happened to fit that description."

"I am not dropping anything for him," I stated angrily.

"Oh really," He stated. "So where do all of us fit in in your little plan?"

"You guys can hang out with us whenever you want," I said. "It's not my fault you hate him for no reason."

"No I have a reason," Jake said. "A perfectly good reason and because now you want to let it go over your head doesn't mean I will."

"It's called forgive and forget."

"I can't forget or forgive that," He yelled.

"Grudge much," I yelled back at him.

"Well one of us has to remember what he did and it's obviously not gonna be you," He stated."Someone has to remain reasonable in this house." Just then I heard shuffling. I looked towards the hallway to see everyone standing there staring at us. Trevor had his arm wrapped around Haley who's head was snuggled into his chest watching us. Lindsay stood there frozen just looking at us and Mason intertwined their fingers. Kyle leaned on the wall watching us intently. Dylan and Ben both stood the closest looking like they were ready to jump in at any moment.
