Leo was grounded. He no longer felt sudden surges of panic or stayed awake for days on end. Of course that didn't mean that Nico fixed all of his problems, he just made them bearable. He had a reason to climb into bed and never get out. And that's coming from a boy whose bed was used for more work space. Leo also had a reason to pump up the annoying jokes. Because no matter how much Nico hated them, he loved Leo, and Leo loved that loopholes that he could so easily create.
"Leo stop." Nico grumbled as he cuddled against Leo's side. Leo didn't even realize that he'd been twisting scraps of metal between his calloused hands. As he wrapped a paper clip around a small washer he noticed the small click. He stopped.
"Sorry, didn't notice." He whispered and petted the black hair that was Nico. Nico's body was burning hot, like to the point that Leo was worried that he would sweat to death. No fire resistance meant that Nico wasn't just invulnerable to the heat, he was enduring it? Leo was always confused by how Nico loved the constant heat that he emitted. Most of his friends couldn't stand it after five minutes of cuddling him. Jason even began to sweat from a bean bag distance.
But not Nico, he absolutely enjoyed the inferno of Leo's skin. Leo asked Hazel once and she speculated that his soul must be cold from his time in Tartarus. He assumed that she was right because that place freaked Leo out. Just imagining the coldest and hottest places down there made his blood run cold, and that was very hard for Leo to do. As he put the scrap on Nico's bedside table, he realized that he'd made an industrial heart.
