As you can see, I have not updated in a couple of weeks, and I have gotten so many comments requesting updates for this fanfiction. The thing is, I've been so preoccupied with another novel I'm currently working on. I haven't posted in yet, but I soon will! It is a dystopian romance novel, and I'm 12 chapters into it.

Back to Spy School: My writer's block has finally cured.

This chapter is a transitioning chapter, so it might not be as long as the others. Still, I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience and I hope you all enjoy the chapter! Have a wonderful day!

? POV

"They're staying in that hotel."

"Which one, boss?"

"The one by the coffee place, the great big one."

"What say we get them?"

"Of course. The little Hale girl thinks she's too smart for us. We'll get to them quickly."

Ben's POV

"Get up, Benjamin, quickly," Alexander's voice flooded through my ears, jolting me awake. He stood in front of me, once again wearing a bespoke three piece suit.

"What in the world?" I asked absently, staring at him.

"We need to evacuate as fast as possible. Lucio's men will be here any moment." with that, Alexander walked out.

I hopped out of bed and washed my face in the bathroom. Erica poked her head in and waved good morning to me, then signaled that we didn't really have much time left.

"Pack all your stuff. Leave no trace of us ever staying in this hotel at all," she said. I opened the backpack I had brought and stuffed everything I had into it.

I walked out of my room to see Alexander, who had neatly rearranged everything in the whole suite.

Erica had also cleaned up her room, and she was scrolling through something on her phone, muttering something under her breath every couple of seconds.

Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a box of small, shiny black objects in the corner of the room. "Erica! You missed that," I said, catching her attention.

"Oh my god, that would have given us away so easily," she said, hopping to her feet and grabbing it. She pocketed it in one of the many pouches on her utility belt.

"You're not the one to miss something so important," I observed. "You look so concerned. You're not so worried all the time, Erica. What's wrong?"

She sighed. "It's just...I can't believe I was so careless. He slipped a tracker on my bracelet as he handcuffed me, and I didn't even realize it. I'm so...I can't believe it."

I moved to her side. "It's fine. "We're getting out of here, right? We'll be fine. Don't worry."

She smiled. "Thanks, Ben."

"Okay, come on, kids. We have to go. Now." Alexander grabbed his phone, scanned the hotel and grabbed his bags.

Erica was right on his heels. "Quick," she said, and raced out of the suite, followed by me.

"Let's go," Alexander said to Mike and Zoe, who had also packed up. Riley was on their heels. Alexander turned to Riley. "Riley, double check my room and I'll double check yours. Kids, I need you in the car. Right now. No questions. Erica, run a scanner. Check for trackers. Mike, Zoe, Ben, you guys scan for bugs in your luggage and in the car. Leave no traces behind."

No one needed to be told twice. Everyone hopped into action. Alexander ran upstairs and Riley dashed into our suite.

Zoe started down the stairs with Mike on her heels. Figuring Erica would be mad if I used the elevator, I followed her down the stairs. Sure enough, right outside the lobby was Riley's car.

"Get in and start searching," Erica commanded. The situation was tense, and no one wanted to do anything else. I climbed into the car and started searching for any sign of anything that might be of harm.

"Nothing in the front seats," Mike reported to no one in particular.

"Nothing on the outside," Zoe added. "What's the status, Erica?"
Erica looked up from her phone. "I found one tracker on the bumper, nothing else. But I'm getting under to check as well."

"Nothing in the backseats," I concluded after a detailed search. "All clear."

Erica got under the sedan and started searching. Her phone was vibrating on top of the car's hood. I grabbed it and found Alexander calling. I picked it up hesitantly.

"Hello?"

"Alexander, it's me. Ben. Erica's under the sedan."

Alexander was silent for a moment. "Okay. We scanned both of the rooms. All clear. How's it going with the car?"

"Erica found one tracker. Other than that, we're clear."

Alexander swore loudly. "I'll be down."

Thirty seconds later Riley and Alexander came running downstairs. "Let's go," Riley said, hopping in.

"How are we all going to squeeze in?" I asked.
Alexander looked from the four of us to the backseat of the sedan. "Squeeze in as much as you can," he said, then slid into the shotgun seat. Not surprisingly he pulled out an actual shotgun from under the seat. "Ready?"

Mike and Zoe climbed in, Mike at the window. Erica squeezed in as well and I sat next to her, taking the other window seat.

Mike groaned. "You know what? I'm just going to sit down here." He sat on the floor, allowing me, Erica and Ben to hug our knees and spread comfortably throughout the backseat as Riley drove off.

"Where are we headed?" I asked.

"Somewhere that's not here," Alexander replied. "Anywhere that's not ten miles within the hotel."

Mike turned to me. "Hey, Ben, aren't you always the one to find out the bad guy's plans?"

"Have you figured anything out yet?" Zoe asked. "He's shady. We need to get more info."

"I was talking to Cynthia the other day in school, and she said that her dad mostly deals with nuclear experiments."

"Nuclear experiments..." Alexander muttered. "What for?"

"I'm not sure," Erica piped up. "I talked to Jamie about his dad, and he was telling me that he hates his dad like crazy. Apparently he found out one day that his dad is involved in nuclear missile trades."

That got everyone's attention. "Why didn't you tell me before?" Alexander asked.
"I did," Erica began, "but you waved it off."

Alexander nodded as realization struck him. "Ah, yes, I thought that Jamie Mirgher was unaware of the mission."

"He hates his dad for lying to him," Erica continued. "He doesn't like where this was going. I needed the information so badly, so I..." she absently trailed off.

"You what?" Alexander pressed. "What did you do, Erica?"

Erica was silent. All she did was turn to me. Her eyes revealed everything.

My eyes widened in horror as she spoke the next seven words.

"I told him that I'm a spy."

Sorry for not updating in so long! I'm so happy I could finally write this.

Happy Valentine's day, everyone!
