"That's great!" Akyll exclaimed as Ivy finished a careful stroke of his small brush. He reddened as he dropped his gaze, hiding a shy smile. "Its nothing..." He mumbled. On his large canvas, a highly detailed night sky glittered, the morning sun making the paint shine. Akyll giggled, her crimson-gold eyes bright with happiness. She turned around to study the painting further, only to freeze. Ivy inhaled sharply, his eyes darkening with fear. "Ivy-" She whispered, her lips barely moving as she spoke. "-go find my father. Don't turn around and run. I'll stay here." "But..." Ivy murmured, and Akyll turned her head sharply while hissing "Go!" At that moment, the shadows shifted. Ivy gasped and bolted for the door. The darkness moved again.A piece of them leaped out, tackling Akyll to the ground and planting a massive black paw on her mouth. His purple eyes glittered hungrily, his voice rumbled deep and smooth in his throat. "Oh, hello little one. Do not be afraid, I just have some unfinished business to attend to." Akyll growled bravily, kicking out with her legs. This only angered him, for he snarled and struck down, his fangs driven deep in Akyll's throat. Akyll tried to scream, but nothing came out. Just as he was about to rip his head back up, he was knocked aside by a russet flash. Blood pooled around Akyll as she hazily realized it was her father attacking the killer shadow. The fight was loud and bloody, but eventually Garthen hit the death blow. The killer dusted, snarling revenge weakly as he faded away. Garthen didn't hesitate to turn around, demorph and pick up Akyll's bloody body, rushing her to the only one who could save his precious daughter.

Akyll groaned softly as her eyes fluttered open. She grimaced at the fiery pain pulsing through her entire body, basing from her neck. A soft, warm hand rested on her head, stroking her hair. "You'll be okay, little dove. You'll be okay. Alphys is taking good care of you." She instantly recognized the smooth,  reassuring voice of her father. A large reptilian strode into the room, wearing a gray lab coat and black pants. He muttered to himself, his emerald green eyes cool and concentrated. He smiled slightly at Akyll, adjusting his glasses as he studied the small beeping machine beside her. "Akyll should be fine in a few days, but no strenuous activity until then." Garthen sighed in relief. "Of course, Alphys...thank you for saving my daughter." Alphys chuckled softly. "She has your blood. I feel greatly flattered that you came to me." His eyes turned serious. "Garthen, who attacked her? This isn't any accidental wound. This was on purpose." Garthen hesitated. "It....it was Greed..."
