She stood by her window, looking out into the garden watching all the people who had come to her parents house to celebrate the party. Her engagement party. She turned her gaze towards the main dias where her soon to be fiance and future groom was standing with his father as well as her own mother and father, waiting for her to show up. Teresa Garcia had never felt so left out in her whole life as she did right now, even though the party was for her.
She had never wanted to get married, atleast never to a man like Leonardo Cortez, eldest son and successor of the rich industrialist Eduardo Cortez who was her father's best friend. All she ever wanted was to acquire a degree in law and open up her own law firm. She was the only daughter of Lorenzo and Rosalina Garcia, owner of a prestigious and successful law firm that operated throughout the US and partially in South America. Her family was well off, so she couldn't understand why her parents were forcing her to marry Leonardo. She wasn't into arranged marriages, she wanted to marry for love but fate had something else in store for her.
Her marriage to Leonardo was also the last wishes of his mother Constanza Cortez, Teresa had no choice but to accept this. Her parents were happy for her, and she could never see her parents upset.
With a heavy sigh she draped the curtains and stood in front of the mirror. She looked functional enough she thought, her long golden hair was left open with only two thin braids starting from the both sides of her head and being clipped at the back with a jewel clip, her makeup was minimal, her dress was a soft blue one that reached right down to them floor in a flare but it was tight in all the right places, showing off her slim and curvy figure and going well with her peach colored complexion. She thought she looked overdressed, but her mom kept on going about how pretty she looked because she hardly ever wore such dresses, Teresa felt more comfortable in jeans and shorts and T-shirts.
Making one last twirl in front of the mirror, she finally stepped into her white heels and left her bedroom.
Time to face the music, Teresa she said to herself.
Ok I know the pic doesn't match the description of Teresa's dress, but google wasn't kind to me :(
