*Wedding day*
Teresa kept on staring at herself in the tall mirror in her bedroom. This was going to be her last moment in her house before she left to marry Leonardo and she didn't have any hope that Leonardo would want her to come back to her parents home, even for a visit. She didn't think it was possible, but her heart sank even low than before, judging by how much her heart kept on sinking from receiving more bad news after the other, it might be somewhere near her small intestines by now.
She kept staring hard at her features in the mirror, thinking what was so good about her that Constanza chose her as her daughter in law before she died. To Teresa, she was just an average girl, a wallflower. She hated conversation with people unless they were her close friends and relatives. She had even begun to hate her conversations with Selene, it made her feel like as if she was there for Selene only to get her job done of finding her sister. She knew that Selene was keeping things from her, ever since she went AWOL, she wasn't her best friend anymore. Teresa felt like she was being used, by everybody around her. Maybe even her parents were using her too, getting rid of her so that they could finally get a break from doting on her and focus on each other she thought. But she dismissed her thoughts immediately, they were her parents, they loved her no matter what.
Her mother suddenly barged into her room, admiring how beautiful her daughter looked, Teresa could tell from the twinkle in her mother's eyes that she was both worried and happy for her.
You look wonderful, my child. I can't believe that you've all grown up, said Rosalina. I hope Leonardo takes care of you. I will kill him if he does anything to my baby, she added.
This finally made Teresa smile, a genuine smile. She went upto her mother and gave her the tightest hug she could, I love you mommy. I love you so much. I wish I didn't have to marry Leo. I don't like him mamma, Teresa cried, resting her head against her mother's shoulder, they were almost the same height, Teresa being just an inch taller than her mother.
Shhhh, I know baby. I know. I'm your mother. I gave birth to you. Of course I'll know what you feel. Just try to make this work for now, okay. I'm sorry that I'm powerless in this situation. But no matter what, I'm always here for you. I love you too baby, said Rosalina caressing her daughter's long golden locks, trying to calm her down and trying to stop herself from breaking down with her. She could feel it. Teresa was breaking, and she needed her mother at the moment. Rosalina had to be strong for her baby girl. Her only baby. She wanted to just hide Teresa, she deserved better than a demon like Leo, but that would have been cowardice, all she could do was pray and hope that her daughter would be alright.
We should go now baby, everyone is waiting in church.
Teresa sighed and let her mother lead her to the waiting limo.
Once they were at the church and Lorenzo gelding out his hand to help Teresa out and lead her to the altar, she knew she was cooked meat. There's no running away now, Tessa, she said to herself. Even if he looks so gorgeous right now in that dark suit and mesmerizing chocolate brown eyes which had golden flecks in them, he is still a man whore.
Leonardo was mesmerized by Teresa too. She looked amazing in her dress. Her shoulders were bare and her dress was right down to her hips from where the gown flayed out down to the ground, trailing at the back. As she came closer, he noticed that there were intricate patterns of gold thread all over her dress and her veil. Her flowing golden hair had been let down and curled at the ends, she looked so innocent and sweet.
As Teresa stood next to Leo, he instinctively took her small hands in his large ones and nodded to the priest to begin the ceremony.
Teresa's mind felt like jelly bunnies. His hand felt so warm and securing but he was really a cold hearted bastard, she knew, a very handsome cold hearted bastard, her mind intervened. Shut up brain, she yelled in her mind, trying to focus on what the priest was saying.
....and you may now kiss the bride... Teresa had been dreading that line but it was finally said. She was nervous and Leonardo got the hint because he squeezed her hand, trying to calm her down. He turned her so that she was facing him, the fingers of his right hand playing with the ring he had just placed on her finger a moment ago. Relax, just relax your body. You'll be alright. You think too much, my love, he purred into her ear, before pulling her close to him and placing his lip's against hers. Sealing their marriage.
When he pulled away, he saw a dazed look in her brilliant green eyes. The look made him want to kiss her more and savour her taste, but he had to stop himself. He was in a church after all.
Come, Tessa, let's cut the cake and then we'll be off to our honeymoon, he said.
Honeymoon? What honeymoon? And how the hell did he get to know my nickname, she asked herself, but before she could ask anything, Leonardo was pulling her towards the buffet table.
He needed to look after his wife. He needed her to be at her best, especially for what he had planned for them tonight.
Eeeeehhhh!!!! Another chapter done.
Lemme know how you guys feel about this peeps. I'd love some criticism.
