Maka woke up later that morning in Soul's arms. She shifted into his chest, before opening her eyes and realizing where she really was. One of Soul's ruby eyes opened and he stared at her for a good thirty seconds before releasing her. Maka, now red, quickly walked into the other room and closed the door.
Maka's Pov
What just happened back there? Why was I in Soul's arms. A warn fuzzy feeling crawled into my stomach. No, I couldn't like my weapon, could I? I mentally signed and changed into my school uniform. Today was the day I had to switch Soul with Tsubaki. Sadly I walked out of my room and waited by the door for Soul. He slowly came out of his room, not once looking at me. I wish I could understand what he was thinking behind his cool self esteem.
Soul's Pov
I walked out my room not looking at Maka. It was already embarrassing that she feel asleep with me.......today wasn't going to be a cool day. I hoped on my motorcycle and let her climb on. What if out soul length never matches again?
Normal Pov
Both teenagers rode to the DMWA sliently letting the ponder of their thoughts getting the better of them.
"Maka, Soul come here" ordered Stein. Maka and Soul walked over to see the burnt hands of their comrades.
"What happened?" asked Maka
"Well, I'm thinking the patterns switched again"
"What?" asked Soul
"We tried everyone here......and no meister could hold a weapon"
"So you're saying that?"
"I have a theory, when Emily's hologram dissappeared, she said a spell that sounded familiar"
"I thought I might have recognized it too" said Kid
"Well I researched it last night and I was right........that's why no meister can hold a weapon, because the meisters are now weapons and vice versa for the weapons"
"But, there's more to this, I remember reading this" complained Kid
"That's right there is, two meisters or now weapons will have to go with other people, I already picked them out, come here Kyoko and Kumiko. Kyoko had long amber hair and pretty bright green eyes. She was fairy tall, almost the same height as Tsubaki. Kumiko had blue hair with grayish purple eyes. He was the same height as Kyoko and was built like Black Star.
"These two are both Meisters and I'm going to pair you guys up with Soul length. Kid and Kyoko, Liz and Patty and Black Star, Soul and Tsubaki, and Kumiko with Maka, alright now everyone go and talk with your partners to connect your soul lengths more" Quietly Kid walked up to Stein and frowned.
"Why didn't you tell them that one of the pairs of meister and weapon will never recover?" asked Kid angrily
"Because, there's no need in scaring them, they will find out soon enough" Kid looked back at his friends and signed, he had to tell them before it's to late
