-Chapter Four: Under Siege-

Sakarine and her friends found themselves leaving as Askel and Eske had requested. They walked through Valendwood to the city they had needed to get to, and quietly waited for the presence of the two young Nordic Dragonkin to leave the country. When the Bosmer were finally waking from the trance, it was as if nothing had ever happened for the rest of the world, and for Sakarine and her companions life continued as planned. They boarded a large boat and began the ocean journey to the Summerset Isles, pleased to be on their way. Ja'daar had proved to be useless on the water, the Khajiit spending the entire time either keeled over the side or curled in a ball complaining that the world was spinning. Sakarine tried and tried to help yet nothing could be done. Not even when bandits raided the ship, Ja'daar could not hold himself for long. The sounds of swords colliding and the heavy scent of blood filled the ship. As much as Sakarine adored the black furred cat, she couldn't protect him. She moved him into a crate and told him to stay put before fleeing back into the the midst of battle. She would return to him when the battle was won.

Ja'daar's felt like the entire planet was spinning beneath him, the churning water which shook the boat being his worst enemy. He couldn't even stand without help when the ship was moving. He wanted to be a good fried and help fight, he wanted to protect them. It was two skilled fighters and a trade ship's crew against bandits, skilled in the art of pillage and burn. He was worried he friends would be killed. This was the first time in a long while that he... a hopelessly quiet loner... had friends. He could even question what exactly the word friendship meant to him. He wasn't sure, he just knew he couldn't let the two people he cared for die. Especially not Sakarine. She had always been honest and kind, she had always protected him despite the fact he could protect himself. He only wished he knew what it was which compelled her to risk her life for him, or go out of her way to make sure he remained content. He was nothing, not anymore, yet a blood soaked angel had shown up at his home and taken him out into the world once more.
