Natalie

Leaving Minnesota was one of the hardest things that I had to do. That was my home. That was where I played soccer my whole life. It got cut short all because I moved to California to sing.

Gustavo Rocque was holding auditions to sign to his label out in Hollywood. Although I played soccer, I also had a passion for singing. So I decided to see what the auditions were like and try out for myself. I had my mom drive me to the auditions and pick me up after they ended.

"Hi, I'm here to audition for Gustavo...Rocque." I told the lady who allowed me in. "May I have your name?" I told her my name and she sent me through the double doors where Gustavo and his assistant were sitting at a table in front of a stage. I nervously stumbled in, rolling my hands down the side of my pants.

"I don't care what you do, but get it done and over with so I can leave." Gustavo dragged out the last word. He's a bit harsh, which might slightly annoy me. I simply just nodded and positioned the microphone closer to my lips. I opened my mouth, but nothing came out, so I tried again. Still, nothing. "Sorry." I said, and I tried once more, this time successfully.

After my audition ended, Gustavo was silent, and if looks could actually kill, I'd be dead. Part of me knew that I was beyond terrible, but the other part had slight hope that he liked it. Even if I don't make it anywhere with my singing, at least I tried. I can go back to playing soccer.

"That was...not the greatest." Gustavo finally said, folding his hands under his chin. My heart dropped to my feet. "But I'll be able to try and help you." My heart rose back up to my chest. I'm pretty sure my face lit up, considering the look on Gustavo's face.

After a few moments of conversing, I was told the final news: if I made it or not. It took Gustavo a few seconds to think, and it scared me. "You could improve your singing. Easily, only if you work with me." I felt like my heart was about to explode in a thousand pieces.

We arrived in Hollywood, and I was introduced to Rocque Records, along with Griffin, who is Gustavo's boss. "Kelly will tell you when I need you in the studio. I don't like when people annoy me, so don't annoy me." And it was just me and my mom.

Walking through these big double doors, a large man welcomed us at the desk. "Welcome to Palm Woods. I'm Mr. Bitters, here's your room key. I don't like people." The man said and shoved us away to find our rooms by ourselves.

We unpacked everything we had and after many continuous hours, our apartment was finally set up. "Okay sweetie, I'm gonna go grocery shopping. You can go check out the pool and see what activities you can do." I said okay and left the apartment. I headed down the hallway towards the elevator.

On my way towards the lobby, I accidentally bumped into someone. "Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't see you there!" I said, dusting myself off. "No worries. I'm Jo. Welcome to Palm Woods." The blonde haired girl smiled at me. "I'm Natalie. This place is so beautiful."

Me and Jo ended up hitting it off from the start. I found out that she came to Palm Woods for acting, as I told her I came here for singing. "Really? There's not many people who came here for singing, mostly because of Gustavo Rocque. The only guys I know that are with him are Big Time Rush, although no one knows they're a band, considering they haven't even made an album yet." Jo chuckled, sipping her lemonade.

"I just hope I make it far enough. I miss Minnesota and my soccer life."

We talked for a few hours before we had to exit the lobby due to the closing hours. Tomorrow would be a brand new day, in a brand new home.
