Chapter 3

"She left because of you"

"She never wanted you"

"Your a burden"

"You deserved to be sick"

"You should have died"

"It would make everyone happier"

I shoot up into a sitting position. It was just a nightmare.

My heart is beating fast but after a few deep breaths it's back to a normal speed. I feel so cold yet I'm covered in a thin layer of sweat.

I haven't had a nightmare in months. I really hope this was just a one time thing and that there not back.

I pick up my phone to see what time it is. 5:00am. Great. My last weak of summer vacation and I'm up early. Well I'm awake now and I doubt I'll be able to fall back asleep so I get up and make my way to my bathroom for a nice warm shower.

I spend about 30 minutes in the shower before getting out and drying of. I grab a pair of black sweatpants and a white cropped hoodie and get dressed before quickly drying my hair and putting it in a messy bun.

I look at the time on my phone and it reads 6:05am. I guess I could get some breakfast now. I'm starving.

I stroll down the stairs and into the kitchen. Hmm what do I feel like having for breakfast? There's cereal, toast, poptarts... Poptarts it is!

Taking out a pack I pout them in the toaster and make myself some coffee. I wait for the toaster to pop and when it does I grab my poptarts and plop down at the table. There's nothing like coffee and sugar early in the morning.

My breakfast is gone in less than 3 minutes sadly. It just tasted so good.

I hear footsteps on the stairs and turn my head to see dad making his way into the kitchen.

He does a double-take when he sees my already up and dressed this early.

"Why are you up so early?" he asks looking sort of shocked.

"Good morning to you to dad," I say sarcastically but with a smile.

"Good morning Lia," he laughs making himself a cup of coffee," So, why are you up so early?"

I sigh, picking up my plate and cup and putting them in the dishwasher. "I had a nightmare".

His eyes shoot up to me," Like your old one?" he asks with worry clear in his gaze.

"Yup, exactly like them," I answer.

"Well hopefully it's just a one off," he says sipping his coffee and sitting down at the table.

"Yup," I hope so cos if it's not then I'll have to go back to visiting Ben twice a week. In case your wondering, Ben is my therapist. I started going to him a few years back when I got sick and my nightmares started but haven't been in a while since I'm better. "Hey dad, what day exactly are we moving into Jane's house?" I just remembered that I never asked.

"This Friday, that way we'll have time to settle in. Oh and you'll be starting at the boy's school since it's way closer to Jane's house".

Now that I wasn't expecting. "Moving school? But dad, what about my friends? And my teams! I have worked so hard to get to where I am." In school I am on the track and swim team. I have been since I started there. I have put in a lot of hard work and I am now the captain of the swim team and co-captain of the track team. I can't just throw that away!

"I know you have sweetie but you can make more friends an join sports teams at your new school," he smiles, standing up and kissing me on the head before putting his now empty cup in the dishwasher," I'm going to head to work now. Start packing for Friday. Love you, bye!"
