"You're fine, [Y/N]. You're doing fine." Eleven told the scared girl.

"I'm not doing fine. Why do we even have to do this?" [Y/N] turned to her friend.

"Because... because... because..."

"You don't know why, do you?" She asked turning to the brunette girl.

"Well, Mike wanted me to help you with your powers. See exactly what you can do. So, it doesn't blow up in our faces I guess. Or to keep your powers a secret from people who want to use it." Eleven explained.

"Like what happened to you." [Y/N] said bluntly, not even bothering to think about her words before she said them.

Eleven sent her a look, and [Y/N] wished she hadn't had said that. She was just super blunt at the most inconvient of times. [Y/N] knew that Eleven's life was not all fun and rainbows. And that Hopper had sent Eleven to a psychiatrist for her PTSD and anxiety. The poor telekinetic badass had been abused and punished growing up by Dr. Martin Brenner who had the rest of the kids refer to him as Papa. Which was heart wrenching for [Y/N] to find out.

"Can we just take a break from all of this power stuff?" [Y/N] asked.

"Yeah." Eleven nodded and sat down on the step of her cabin's porch.

[Y/N] followed after her and sat down on the step beside her friend. It was quiet between the two of them. Neither of then wanting to talk. If they were going to talk,  it would be about the girl who lost and moved on and the girl who won and didn't know it yet.

"Why didn't any of you tell me? About the Upside Down?" [Y/N] asked.

"Why didn't you tell us you have Prophetic dreams? You could have found out on your own and came to us." Eleven replied.

"My powers. Timing isn't apart of it. And sometimes certain events don't overlap. And it's either auditory or visual never both. So, why didn't any of you tell me?" the [H/C] haired female explained.

"They found me the night after Will was proclaimed missing.  And I told them I knew where he was."

"I was sick for two to three days. I was gone from school after Will 'died.' And when I did come back, the boys ignored me. When I tried calling them on the supercomm, they never answered." [Y/N] commented.

"I'm sorry about that. Mike... he didn't want you involved. I never knew why until the Snowball. Last December." Eleven explained. "Dustin, Lucas, and Will wanted to tell you. Then, when I started school in January with Max, we wanted to tell you then. But Mike didn't want you to know. We couldn't understand why."

"Why did he not want me to know?" [Y/N] asked her.

"He didn't want you to get hurt. For you to be in any danger. And I moved on." Eleven said.

"Move on? Move on from what?"

Eleven turned away from [Y/N]. Should she tell [Y/N] that she had feelings for Mike? And then he told her he couldn't reciprocate her feelings? Because he thought he was in love with another girl? And that other girl turned out to be [Y/N]? Okay, she could leave out that part about [Y/N] being the girl because it wasn't in her place to tell her.

"I had feelings for Mike, but he told me at the Snowball that he couldn't reciprocate my feelings. Because he thought he loved someone else." Eleven explained.

At the mention that Muke loved someone else, [Y/N]'s heart plummeted into her stomach. A pain stabbed at her heart like a thousand pins and a thousand knives. [Y/N] had no idea how to respond to that. She had always thought that Mike liked Eleven. Which is why she didn't want to make friends with her in the first place. It was Lucas that told her to be friends with the girl.

"Oh." Was all [Y/N] said.

"He cares about you too, no doubt about it." Eleven reassured her.

[Y/N] just nodded her head.

"Now, can we try again?" Eleven asked her.

[Y/N] nodded her head before her vision went black.

"Uh, Mike, why can't you just ask [Y/N] out already?" asked Lucas.

Mike grumbled and turned away from him, finding his Geometry homework much more interesting than that conversation. The conversation the boys and Mike and El and the teens thought was the most interesting thing about their lives. Now that the Mind Flayer was dealt with. And [Y/N] was no longer gone. Missing.

"Are you still upset that Will and El interrupted your almost makeout session with [Y/N]?" asked Max, sitting next to Lucas on the couch trying to do science homework.

Mike made a few incoherrent words which gave the group all they needed to know. "So, we're going to take that response as a yes."

"Just ask her out already. I've known you for almost a year and you two are both obvious and oblivious." Max told him.

"I can't ask her out." Mike told them.

"Why not?" asked Dustin. "You like her. She likes you. She's going to say yes. Trust me on this."

"I just can't okay." Mike replied going back to the distance and midpoint worksheet they were doing.

"I'm getting Nancy." Max said, putting her binder beside her and rushing up the stairs before anyone could stop her.

"Just great." Mike muttered to himself.

Max found Nancy in her room doing a paper for English. Max knocked on the door. And the pretty Wheeler female turned towards the noise.

"Hi, Max. What can I do for yuh?" asked Nancy.

"Can you talk to your brother for us?" asked Max.

Nancy sighed. "What did he do?"

"It's not about what he did. It's more about what he hasn't done yet." Max explained.

Nancy turned to her and put down her pencil in the process. "He hasn't asked [Y/N] out, has he?"

Max shook her head and the two females went downstairs. Nancy crossed her arms across her chest and stared at her brother who was choosing to ignore her.

"Why haven't you asked [Y/N] out?" asked Nancy.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Mike responded.

Which earned him very frustrated looks and gestures from the rest of the party.

"Yes, you do. I know you do. Because I've seen you be in love with this girl before you even knew what love was ("Ooh!" "Shut up!"). Now, you're going to march up to Hopper's cabin and I don't care if all of us have to drag you, you're going to ask her out, and you're going to be happy about it when she says yes to going with you to the back to school carnival." Nancy told him.

"Do I have to?" Mike grumbled.

"Yes. Boys." Nancy pointed to his three guy friends who dragged him up and out of the basement.

And with Mike no longer struggling, they walked towards Hopper's cabin. The pale boy wished that if he was really doing this, his best friends wouldn't be there. To embarrass him. Mike's thoughts about how he was supposed to say it and worries about her answer filled his head the way up to the cabin.

"Holy fuck! What the hell happened?" Dustin's voice entered his ears and he looked up.

Hopper's cabin had exploded with the two girls outside. [Y/N] unconscious and Eleven trying to wake her up.
